Question...O2 sensors on those with KOOKS...

Are they upstream or downstream?

I have KOOKS, but the car is not with me and I need to pick up a pair of O2 sensors today.

My tuner at RDP ran my car out of gas and chose to fill it with 116 leaded to continue tuning.
Nice...the sensors both threw codes 2 hours after leaving his shop.

On another note, the car now stalls when it comes to a stop, such as a red light or stop sign.
Stalls every time. Even in reverse trying to park it in the driveway.

Would ad O2 sensors cause this?

upstream is the first set, and the only set that should be turned on in your tune.
The stalling is prob the IAC settings in the tune. It's called dashpot setting in my software, not sure if it has other names, either way I imagine your tuner will know the settings. The IAC could also be bad I guess

PS I hope you don't have cats at all, the the leaded fuel is bad for them

Is there a way I can check the IAC?

I am really wanting to avoid that shop any further...

The IAC is the silver motor looking guy bolted to the upper manifold next to the TB. you can pull it off pretty easy, might be all gunked up, spray it out with TB cleaner and see how that works. I dunno if there are known voltage ranges for it that you could test with a multimeter. It really is the tune a lot of the time on blower cars though sorry to say.

Sorry that I didn't get back with you sooner Barry,

Mine are installed on the Kook's header itself, not the cat section.

BTW, I'm :mad2:about the trans fluid burned on my exhaust from the incompetence of a very highly recommended speed shop on this site and MCM. They did a torque converter swap for me last May, I developed a slight "leak" as time went on. Culminating with FastMerc following me back from Carlisle, and every time that I left off the gas after heavy acceleration, I left him in a puff of smoke and an oily haze on his windshield. Pulled off for gas and checked the fluid, was very clean, but overfilled (still?). Took it in to the dealership the next day to diagnose the leak. Reported it overfilled by 2-3 quarts, removed the excess, added a dye, and cleaned up the underside to check for leak. Said that I must have got lucky, no leak, probably from vent. Time will tell, what happened internally. I used to be able to stomp the pedal and smoke the tires without the use of the brakes.

Sorry to derail your thread.

Normally one tank of leaded race gas won't kill the sensors, but it you run it all the time it will damage them. I suspect the tune is still not right.

Another cautionary note: IF the tune was done with c16 and timing advanced accordingly there will be too much timing in the tune for running pump gas. It will have detonation and blow the engine. If the dyno tuning was already done and c16 was only used for the street tune you should be ok.

We really need to start a list of incompetance!

Ohio has failed in so many ways.

Down stream are turned off, normally in the tune, stalling after a dyno tune I would believe is in the tune, if you have a Xcall data log short term fuel trims and 02 voltage that will tell if the 02's are bad and with LTH you some time have to adjust for slower warm up or they will throw a code. One way of checking the IAC is turn the A/C on and the idle should raise.

Ohio has failed in so many ways.I never said Ohio. Last Year, I took Mark to pick up his car from the Kook's install, and I left my car for a week for a torque converter swap. When I was there many years ago for my 4:10 install and dyno, I watched them Dyno your car after the NOS install. That one!
