03 Mustang GT

One of my Navy buddies has a convertible Mustang so we're always talking about what we want to do with our cars and whatnot, he's been in a few of the pictures I've taken of my car. Anyway, he was following me back from Autozone and we got lined up next to each other at a light. I've never really wanted to race him because I figured he'd stomp me, but it's all in good fun, so I figured what the hell.

Got all ready to go at the light and as soon as it turned I got the jump on him by half a car length and kept in that way all the way up to 80.

I thought for sure that would never happen, but it did. What gives? Are the 03s really that slow?

I had a run-in like this before with that gen Mustang GT and the results were the same.

We started out around 55MPH though, I jumped half a car length on him immediately and it stayed that way until I governed out at 120 something or whatever, then he pulled away on me.

This was pre-tune, pre-JLT, pre-Jmod.....

Im pretty sure it would get killed now in a similar race.

I had a 2000 GT and I remember coming home with the marauder on the fwy( just bought). Wife in the marauder me in the mustang same result car and a half later...little did I know the marauders love the fwy where the 4v could wind out!
