View Full Version : Do this for our cars and Mercury for that matter

I just got an issue of Hot Rod and they have a part asking for events and cars that are worth their attention. I suppose they will have an article on Mercury sooner or later so I suggest we invite them to Marauderville in a few months. This is plently of notice and should fit well with Mercury as their subject. Being that we are the group that refuses to let the Marauder and Mercury brand die.
Send your emails to HOTROD@hotrod.com

Send those emails and or letters and get them out there. I bet we can do it if we can get a few people with the drive.

Hmm, sounds rather familiar. From the "Marauderville At Panther Plant" thread...
If we can make some contacts with Ford we should lock in a date. Let's get magazine's to be there too. Motor Trend, Hot Rod, Car and Driver.... whoever. The more I think about it the bigger it can be. We owe it to these guys. This can be huge.
What happened? :shake:
No matter. Car Craft was present and photgraphing operations and tourists of the St. Thomas Plant this weekend. Look for it later this year.

Different magazine different event.
Different subject too. What you mentioned was for Panthers, now the Mercury brand is going away it's a different subject.
You can email them or choose not to. I didn't ask you about other events.

Different magazine different event. Yet you were the one who first mentioned, on this site, the idea of...
1. Getting a bunch of similar vehicles together.
2. Getting a national magazine to cover the event.
...and then did nothing about it in the months leading up to the event.
I mean, that's not a big deal, but don't say it's 'different' when there are parallels between the two and the end result will likely be the same.

The date was changed and there was no room for me. Besides I didn't get that event together being that these tours happen every year anyway. I didn't create an event and not show up as you are implying.
On top of all of that I couldn't make it because I had a funeral to go to. I should have just pushed that off and went to the plant right? :shake:
Are you going to do something or not? Lately you have been a real twit.

Are you going to do something or not? I will do as much as you did in the coming months, before the date change and before the funeral.
On top of all of that I couldn't make it because I had a funeral to go to. Sorry for whatever loss you have experienced. Thusly, I'll refrain from furthering the discussion with what I believe would be more valid points to my argument. We're not going to see eye-to-eye on it anyway.
Lately you have been a real twit. OK.

Alright well all I ask is to get some emails going to Hot Rod. Not plan anything big out, just inform them on the event. One email might work, but if they got 20, it would be better. That's all I am trying to say.

I sent them an email, invite to MV VIII and also gave them the background on MV and the Marauder. Lets see if they respond.

Marauderville would be okay, but you'd probably have a better shot at getting Shootout coverage. Also, there's nothing stopping you from "free-lancing" this event. I'll guess that's how they get about 50% of their stories.

Does that mean I do the work and they publish/edit it and they call it their own?

There were 60 open tour spots when the even was announced and the June 18th date has not been changed since it was first officially announced.
Not last time I checked before the event.
You didn't create MV8 either.
I never took credit for any event
Ok. I suppose you knew about the funeral 6 months in advance too?
No one saw it coming
All you did was post the email address for others to do the dirty work. Did you actually email them yourself before you made this topic?
Negative. I emailed them earlier today though. The point is to get people to email not just one. This generates something called an interest and will get the attention of the magazine. You have a lot to learn about life or think threw something before you jump to conclusions. You got the point from the start and you know it. There was absolutely no point to any of your post.
You fail as an internet bully, but excel in being an idiot.

Is this Really that hard to comprehend people? Email away if you would like to "maybe" get some attention in HOT ROD magazine or don't bother. Simple decision here...

I would've expected you to be the first one to email Hot Rod about this.
They got an email around 10am. I would have done it around my posting, but I had to make the woman tired so she could fall asleep.

man....if you guys don't want to email them, DON'T!
I dislike most of Dom's rambles as much as anyone else, but why tear him down for trying to spread the word of marauderville? If any one of the regulars here had posted this, the thread would be 10 pages long of "yeahh emailed them!". Get over yourselves.

I see your confusion Bob. I said "Disco sucks!" but because you were apparently under the car with bazzlebear whispering sweet nothings to each other you heard post #6. Once again I apologize to you and the "BEAR" as you called him and hope I didn't ruin your evening. :D:P:lol: To clarify DISCO SUCKS!!
