View Full Version : Oil on heads, can anything be done?

I have breathers on both my heads on the Marauder. Almost everytime I make a long distance trip oil will get on the heads from the same area the breather is. Can anything be done to prevent a leak like this? The seal is as good as it can be. Or do I have to keep wiping it clean and filling it with oil every 1,000 miles?
I recall the 350 Chevy engine in my truck does the same thing, but only under hard throttle for a long period of time... like towing and nothing can be done about that one.
Suggestions?

Have you checked the PCV?

Throw the stupid breathers in the trash and put a properly setup PCV system on it.

Run a closed loop PCV system, as it should be. Breather's are the easy and cheap way out of dealing with making a PCV system work properly.

Maybe you're confusing this with the rust problem as this would be an issue you can deal with using a rag and wiping.

Sorry, I didn't get up there until Sunday afternoon, got tied up with the ceremonies until about 8 p.m. Had dinner they got home around 1 a.m. Still willing to take a run up at your convienence to look at you car. May have to go to JDK Auto Sales to scope out an Imapala for a friend in the near future.

There is a Marauder for sale in east brookfield MA for 13k. Has 65k on it. Some blemishes they are willing to fix.
I weighed my options and am going to keep my car. Wouldn't mind you coming to check her out! She is not in the shape you saw her in before!

The problem with that was I was getting oil into the intake of the supercharger pipes. This caused oil to leak all over the place, all though my piping and caused the car to burn oil... or at least it seemed that way since oil was entering the air intake by the throttle body.
Is there any other solution besides the stock PCV system? If not, I'd rather have this problem then the one I had before... hate to say it though.

You can cure the entire messy problem by not running any oil in your engine.

You used to have an improperly setup PCV system, that's why you had problems with it. Instead of fixing it, y'all pulled it off and put on breathers.
There are hundreds of Vortech and ProCharger blowers out there with properly setup PCV systems that don't puke out oil and don't coat the inside of the pipes with oil.

Ok cool now I have two options.
Catch can or the right way. BTW Procharger installed the S/C the first time and I left the PCV the way they did. Either something broke or they had it wrong from the beginning.
I guess I should call Procharger too and see what they say.
Thanks.

The original ProCharger setup was just WRONG. That has been discussed numerous times on here. Hook it up the Vortech way.
BTW it wasn't a ProCharger PCV system, it was the FIT setup.

Fine kisses, but I didn't know that was of your interest. Better go to Costco for your kisses and a sponge for other purposes.

Dom, find anyone with a Vortech on a MM or a Mach 1 and re-plumb your PCV like theirs.
BTW, welcome back from London...and I still hate you. ;)
