Went to Zoro Muffler - (highly recommend to anyone) They have a location in Buffalo, NY and 3 in Canada. I went to Ontario Canada - on my way to STAP. I do not like a loud exhaust system, I do not like drone either, my MM is my daily and I drive it all over the place. So I went for quiet and better performance...

X Pipe: Magnaflow 14385 - 2.25 Polished Stainless perforated Tru-X Core
Mufflers: 2.25 Center Offset In Center out DynoMax Super Turbos - 25" overall length
Pipe: 2.25 Stainless MANDREL BENT
Welds: all stainless
Band Clamps: stainless 2.25 Lapjoint.

It is more quiet than factory! Only tell tale is a touch more deep throaty rumble at 1500 rpms -- which you can briefly hear when the car starts up but when it returns to idle it's totally quiet. You can hear it when you are in stop and go traffic and you goose it up to 1500rpm then let off. Other than that it's *totally* quiet. I'm very happy with the results. I can feel some increased grunt for sure.

Bonus: when I go to SW for their long tube headers they will bolt right up as I kept the exact factory cat bolt-up location the same.

yes, but the drive to SW is about 4.5 hours and one month a year they have free installs you buy it they bolt it on - perfect the first time.

14 hours by myself? Nah I'd break something, or mess it up for sure.

its not that bad, i have done it 6 times already, i took the passanger side outtoday in an hour, the weld on the last primary cracked.

This is why I want SW to do their install, esp. with new revised headers. (no shim, no dipstick issue etc.) plus they can change it right there if they need to.

Thanks guys -I've been sweating this design for some time. MM is running great anyway but I feel this upgrade helps a lot. At the STAP meet I beat (2) supercharged 2v panthers. :burnout: Beat every N/A Marauder I raced too. Ran a best of 14.4 on a kind of hot (heat soaked) day.

You could have went to Zoro in Hamilton, ON too. It was basically on the way to STAP. I don't really mind a 5 hour drive to go somewhere to have good work done. How close are you to SW?

Financially, I'm not ready for any exhaust work or any major mods just yet. And I like the car just fine anyway. When I do go exhaust, I don't know who's gonna do the work.

SW is about 30min from my house.

That's cool you are that close. Zoro was pretty inexpensive too. Nice to finally meet you and see your MM at STAP it is in very mint looking paint etc.

Nonetheless, great meeting you as well but your 'real' name slipped my mind! What is it?

I'm staying N/A. Plan is to get an aluminator perhaps one day and add long tubes, then I'm done. 2.25 is plenty considering many with kooks + trilogy have kept their stock mufflers and H pipe. I figure right now I have more better exhaust flow than those many MM owners.

Eric, I thought you turned your own wrenches?

Yes I do and I've installed all my mods except the gears, but headers is a job I'll sub out. 12-14 hours is a PITA. Plus if I install them wrong (crack a weld or something) they'll have to come back out and I really do not want to deal with all of that! :mad2: Even the guys at SW say it's tough on an MM....

Anyway you can post a sound clip? I'm considering/looking into new mid-pipes because of issues w/my current setup. I still want to hear it bark when I get on it but would like it a little quieter/less drony than it currently is.

I bought my car with the full Kooks kit installed and the x-pipe is less than stellar IMO. The crappy (assuming aluminized) metal is rusting (nothing else on my car has rust) and I'm starting to get a rattle from the cats (not the innards but the heat shields once the car warms up). It's driving me crazy every time I hear it rattle....

I'm looking at the Magnaflow cats that some one posted a link to on performancepeddler.com a few weeks back and was thinking about getting a custom H-pipe made but may go this same route if it still barks a little when you get on the gas.

It's nice and quiet, quieter than factory only exception is at 1500 rpm you can hear it if you goose it at idle in stop/go traffic but that's about it. Because I have the K&N Cold air kit you can still easily hear the engine when the throttle blades are open -- For sure. Nice polished t-304 stainless magnaflow muffled X pipe.

What kind of a clip do you want? I have an average cannon digital camera.

Also can everyone see the pictures I uploaded here? I wasn't sure if non members could see them.

Just looking for a sound clip or video clip w/sound of it at idle and with your foot in the gas. I'm looking to hear if it's to quiet for what I'm want or if it still barks out the pipes when you get on the gas. I still want people to hear it when I launch hard or due wot bursts.

I can see the pics fine, I'm a member but not a supporting member so no flags. Anyone signed in with an account should be able to see them.

re: pics cool thanks for the verify.

I don't have long tube headers yet so that will make a big difference in volume. I'll try and get some video on Friday and post it up here. I need to get a dyno tune. Your numbers are awesome.

Thanks RR, pretty much what I was looking for. Since I already have the LTs w/Magnaflows it should sound similar. Just what I want, nice and quiet when at idle and cruising with plenty of growl when you let her breath.

Also looking at the MAC Prochamber as an option just can't seem to find it where it is only the Prochamber and not the rest of the mid-pipes already setup for a Mustang.
