I saw a fella pearing into my Black 03 shading his eyes from the sun. I thought about hitting the panic button on the key fob to make him jump :D but settled on just remotely unlocking the doors. Talked with him awhile about the MM and he seemed very knowledgeable. Turns out he owned a 96 Impala SS until last year when he traded, in his words "up" ?? to a Chrysler PT Cruiser. I really didn't know what to say to that but I made appreciative comments about the PT Cruiser and made sure to goose the throttle as I passed him walking on down the road.

How do you trade up to a PT Cruiser. http://smilies.sofrayt.com/1/n/puke.gif

But maybe he bought the new Turbo version.

PT Cruisers may be Chrysler's attempt at making a car that resembles a '37 Ford, but they are selling them, and they sure are popular. PT Cruiser groups are everywhere, and some have meets every week!

Would I trade a '96 Impala for a Cruiser? no

Sounds more like trading down, and that would be WAY down to a PT Cruiser. I don't know if it's just me, but I think they are one of the most hideous vehicles running around. They were unique, until their 2nd month of production when they started showing up everywhere on the streets. I wonder if that guy get's depressed and starts crying everytime he get's into that PT Cruiser after owning such a unique car like the Imp SS for all that time. I'm pretty sure he really misses the old Imp when he steps on the throttle, and finds out there is only half of an engine under the hood...............

I agree, even tough they are popular, it's a design that shouldn't have lasted two years even. They need to do something else now.

Crossfire?????????? But looks like no one wan'ts them a dealer close to me has 5 on lot right now with the lowest MSRP window sticker at $31,644:eek:  :shake: Loks like the MM is a bigger value more and more.

In my opinion, the Crossfire is a rip at that kind of price because Chrysler hyped a whole higher level of performance from the Crossfire, before deciding to sell a detuned version for whatever reason. I know that many car magazines were very dissappointed, because we all expected 260hp or greater as was initially hyped. The Crossfire is also horribly hideous in my eyes as well. That thing may still handle as well as initially advertised, but i'll find another vehicle to buy if they are only going to give it 215, or 225, or whatever the actual final production hp rating is. I know magazines like C&D were saying the Marauder wasn't a good value, but it really is an impressive value when you start considering other vehicles on the market. In fact, you can't make the comparison because noone else offers a large 4 door sedan, with rear wheel drive, and a hot v8 for $35k. When you consider that even a fully loaded Mercury GM still runs for $31k, it starts looking like a better value even more, and all of the rebates and incentives do their part to seal the deal on this gem.

Besides, how nice is it to drive something so unique, in which you don't see one just like yours every other block..............
