My a/c was working fine one day and a few days later, no cold air. :mad2: Air is coming through the proper vents fine though so it isn't the EATC prob.

I searched the threads for a/c probs and none matched mine. My problem is that it all of a sudden, (a few days later) no cold air. Every thing else works fine. I could not get the 'diag' thing to work on my unit for some reason either..hmm?

Any ideas are welcomed! I am dreading the 'stealership' visit....

A few things to check out.
Does the engine cooling fan come on?
Does the compressor kick on?
Can you turn the compressor (not the pulley) by hand?
Can you use a stick or some object and turn the compressor manually while the engine is running? Will the compressor continue to turn if you do that?
Open the fuse box with the engine running and the ac on max cool. Tap on the relays in the fuse box and see if it kicks in.

Are the A/C lines under the hood hot & cold?

Had the exact same thing happen to Phoebe a couple of weeks ago. Took her to my favourite local radiator shop where a recharge of refrigerant did the trick. Nice and cold now.

Thanks guys, I will check those items. :o I don't think it is the refridgerant though since it happened so suddenly.

Heading out to the garage now...

Need to check for a leak as the A/C system is a closed system. If you need more refrigerant you have a leak.

Need to check for a leak as the A/C system is a closed system. If you need more refrigerant you have a leak.I know, but they couldn't find anything. They put in a dye and said if the issue comes back in the next 30 days, they'll warranty the recharge and only charge me to fix whatever's leaking.

I'm having the same problem myself. Planned on just recharging the system and hope it solves my problem. Was just comin on here to do a search to see if anything else would cause this and just so happens this is the first thread.. gotta love this forum.

I'm sending my '04 LX Sport in tomorrow for the exact same problem - will let you know what happens!

It must be that twin screw. He should remove that offensive equipment right away and send it to me. I will examine it - for free.

The dryer/receiver was replaced on the '04 CV and the system recharged w/leak detecting dye again. No leaks were found and the system is still working a week latter but the last time it was checked and recharged it lasted two weeks before crapping out!

LOL...Basically the compressor is not coming on...I checked the relays and fuses...

I still drive her around town periodically though, even when it is hot. Still way more fun than the truck...lol

I am gonna have to bite the bullet and take her to the stealership I guess...

It was worth a try.

I just replaced the dryer on my 03 as it had a hole rusted through where the bracket holds it. my ac guy said he has seen a few like this already. moisture gets under the powder coating and causes rust, cuases a pin hole and your refridgerant leaks out.

I don't even hear the compressor try and kick on...nothing. :(

Still a hoot to drive though...:banana2:

Check to see if your getting power to the compressor clutch. If not themn you might have a bad/sticking relay.
