I was taking the trash to the recycle center which has a very steep grade. About half way up the hill it died as if someone turned the key off?? :help:

It started right back, runs fine and is OK as far as I know??:( :(

Could this be related to the fuel shut-off relay in the trunk?? I remember some of the ones on early Town Cars were so sensitive they would shut the car off if you entered a driveway too fast!!:flamer:

Suggestions??:) I don't want to get "Rear Ended" next time I climb a steep hill!!!

While it runs.......IT RUNS!!!!!!:D

It's the MM's way of complaining that you were using it to take out the trash. MM's may be used for taking out rice, but not trash. It is in the Owner's Manual. Page 187. Go look.

Look for chaffing on the wiring harness, do a search on TripleTransAm's profile.

There are 2 places passenger side on a casting boss near rear of top head/valve cover and drivers side on a windshield wiper motor bracket by the firewall.

Anything odd happen halfway Down the hill on your way back home ? Same thing happened to me one time during the first 100 miles. I have 2000 miles now and no recurrences.
However, just food for thought...MAYBE your Recycle Center was emitting mixed electronic Gamma/Alpha signals from a discarded microwave, a cell phone, or an Acura decontented sound system or something ???
Then again...MAYBE NOT !!!
Happy Holiday wishes to you and yours.

How much gas did you have in your tank. Maybe all of the gas shifted to one end of your tank and you didn't get any to the fuel pump for a moment....

That's a tough one. Take it to the dealer to check for trouble codes in the computer. If no codes show the problem may be hard to find. I thought the wire harness was corrected for the 2004 Marauder.

How can you dare to take out trash in your Marauder? I won't even go to a drive thru or take home left overs from a restraunt in my Marauder, nevermind trash!

I don't blame your Marauder for turning off on you!

I think that Dennis mentioned anything less than a 1/4 of a tank full of gas, if you try a WOT run then all the gas would shift to the back of the tank, the fuel pump is in front of the tank, this would momentarly starve the fuel pump of gas and shut off occurs.

Same for you if you went up a steep grade incline with less than a 1/4 of a tank of gas, all fuel would shift to the back of the tank and starve the fuel pump. Just a thought, IMHO. ;)

One die out isn't something to worry about, all cars die out once in a while, ***** happens.

Try to replicate the event, go back and drive that incline under the same conditions, as best you remember them. Skip bringing the trash, unless you need too.

A one-time die out could be caused by a hundreds of things, all things that don't mean squat, and won't happen again in your lifetime.

Keep pen and paper handy in the cabin and if/when it happens again, collect your notes on conditions as soon as you can.

A while back, my MM died out in a parking lot full of MM owners who didn't let me forget that. The die out hasn't happened since, but they don't care. Must have been Divine Intervention, and my time to learn something about the word humble. So, ***** happens, yes?

Repeat the event any number of times before you considerate it a problem. You'll stay younger longer...IMHO.

I think the best thing would be to schedule a service apointment with your dealer, mainly because it's not normal for a vehicle to just die like that. Now if you were low on fuel at the time you climbed this steep grade, that could be a possibility for it, but otherwise it shouldn't be. Vehicles are built to cope with many posibilities that are likely, or even not likely to occur when you are driving. At work, we've got this POS Chevy S10 truck in our fleet that always dies when climbing a steep hill while having a 1/4 or less tank of gas. However, none of the other vehicles in our fleet, including the numerous Crown Vic's die even when climbing that same hill with the needle on the E.

As others have suggested, go back to that hill and see if you can duplicate the problem. If you were low on gas when it died on you, try it again with a full, or at least 3/8 a tank or more this time and see if it dies.

A one time stall event will not set a code. Like Mac said, keep a good record of all conditions that occured during an event like that for your service tech if it re-occurs. If it never happens again, let it go.

I just ran my '04 through the Ford system to see if they have any known concerns about stalling, nothing.

that the first day I had my 99 Vic, it left me sit at the bottom of my driveway , with 47 ticks on the odometer. It was towed to the dealer, where they found that the ground wire was not properly attached for the computer.
After that i had 1 other problem, an IAS motor went out ( i think i have the correct acronym, it was the thingy that controlled the air mixture at idle.)
