Last night as Marianne were eating dinner we got walloped by a thunderstorm/micro burst.
We've never seen such wicked winds from a thunderstorm.
The trees were literally doubled over!
Our deck umbrella, which sits anchored in the center of a big glasstop table almost lifted the entire table off our deck! (the umbrella was folded down)
The rain blew against the house at a 90 degree, horizontal blast. Then the pea sized hail hit!
We survived with only minor tree limb damage, along with an 8 hour power outage.
This morning I drove around the neighborhood and surveyed all the trees that were snapped off and pulled out of the ground.
One guy had a BIG tree fall across his driveway and crunched both his cars...:(
The storm passed quickly and as soon as the rain stopped I stepped out on the deck and looked up to see crystal clear blue sky!

There were lightning bolts coming out of the back edge of the storm clouds and they would arc out into the clear blue sky! Really wild to watch!
The colors of the storm clouds as they moved east across the Chesapeake Bay were awesome:
