I have a question I'm replacing Crank and rod bearings on MM#2 so I will also be repalcing the oil pump while i'm in there, what is the proceedure for primeing the oil pump I have heard of packing it with petrolium jelly? I would like to know what others have done.
If you use assembly lube during the re-build, just start the car and it will prime up within 1 to 2 seconds.
It primes so fast I have never heard the engine make noise on all of my new engine builds over the years.

Thanks for the info, I will pick up some assembly lube, any brand recommendations

What Zack said! Just put assembly lube in the oil pump before you bolt down the oil intake pickup tube.
