My temp has read hotter than it actually is for years. I have a feeling it's dirty or next to something hot since I put my blower on. Where is this thing? When it's 85 outside the car says it 99. It's pretty far off.

Dom, all I had to do to correct mine was put it back properly in it's mounting bracket--somehow, it had come loose and was kinda dangling--now it is horizontal to the ground and about 2 degrees off--also, the direction the sun hits the hood above it can effect the reading--not really that accutate all the time--hope that helped--Old Man Maury

Not everyone has your mechanical skills, so why don't you stop bragging and instead help us figure out how to do it. I mean, the hood doesn't magically raise up on its own, something causes it. Perhaps you could tell us what you did to make that happen, or is it a secret?
