Does anyone know if this product would work on a 2004 Marauder with traction control?

ok, I read the link info....and here's my take. The ONLY benefit to this item is turning off the t/c for you everytime you start the car so "you don't forget".

OK, nice....but nicer....You give me the $52 and I'll call you every morning to remind you to turn it off!

Better yet, for $52 I can get a case of post it notes and send you those. This way you can have a fresh note reminding you to "push the t/c off" button everytime you get in your car :P

Save your money, leave this little trinket to the cobra drivers who forget what kind of car they're hopping into

Ok, so aside from the jokes.... will it work on our cars?? I've been asking about this little mod for quite some time and noone has given me any help; just told me I was stupid for doing it.

Don, I would be interested in this too. The 98 Crown vic uses a shunt wire to turn off the TC permanaently. What this basically does is ground the switch. The problem with doing that on the MM is the ABS module will log a trouble code because it thinks the switch wire is "shorted" to ground (which it actually is with most bypass kits, even Ford's). There was a cutoff year sometime after 2000 or so where you could just keep the switch wire grounded all the time. The ABS module has to run through it's start up diagnostic for about 10 seconds before the switch can be closed to ground on the MM. You can test this by just holding the TC switch down during start up and you'll get a trouble code (ABS light will stay on). If this kit just grounds the switch wire (which is what the actual TC switch does) all the time it may not work. But if it has some circuitry inside to delay that until the ABS diagostic is complete it should work. If you (or anyone else) calls them, let us know and I bet a lot of B owner's would be interested.

I still don't understand the need for such a thing. Just turn the switch off after you start the car, it isn't that difficult.

I did read on Modular Depot that Traction Control can be turned off through EEC programing. I think though if this is done it's off until the EEC is programmed again. Dennis may know about this

Yes, you can "kill" TC through the EEC, but you're doing exactly that, killing it. Never to come back until programed to do so. I've looked at relay's, and I think MAYBE an ABS relay in the TC relay spot could work, but I'm no where near positive on that. If you get the 2001-2004 Trac Adapt Module, it should work. I believe the Mustangs operate in the same manner. I'll have to grab my friends 01 GT and test out this holding the button down while starting the car thing. Otherwise... yah... just push the button! Hell, it's become a habbit to my GT friend, since the button's right in front of the shifter.
