Also is this VIN even from a Marauder? 2MHHM79V54X651602
Nevermind. I cracked the code. Its a real deal 2004 Marauder. :shake:
Here's the VIN decoder that came with my certificate from the Ford Performance Group (FPG)
2MEHM75V03X0000
2ME = Ford Motor Company of Canada (i.e. 2=Canada, M= Mercury). If the 3rd digit is "H" it was an incomplete vehicle from the factory (i.e. it was shipped out for the moonroof install)
H= Active Safety belts (all positions), Driver and Passenger air bags plus passenger side air bags, curtains, or canopies.
M75 = Grand Marquis (MM shared this designation in 2003), M79 = Mercury Marauder (separate MM designation added in 2004)
V= 4.6L 302 HP DOHC V-8 Mercury Marauder only
0 (i.e. 9th digit is a check digit 0-9)
3 = Model Year (3 is 2003, 4 is 2004)
X = St. Thomas Assembly Plant
000000 = Sequence Code

clear up some myths....car in the videos is not the same car! car has only been driven once since the complete build, motor is completely built, car made close to 800hp, the owner has had the car along time and the car has been changed several times. only reason the car is being sold is because the owner passed away. Even though the car is not your taste no need to bash it! the owner loved performance and liked to have his cars different then the rest.

no problem...the car had alot of money put into it just in motor/trans/rearend as before this finally build they tried alot of different setups.....one major thing I forgot is it is basically a cobra motor build verses the marauder motor...that was pulled after the second try at power...with the 4v 4.6 the car made 690 before it blew one night on the hwy playing around, trans went out and over reved the motor...then it was put up for almost 2 yrs until this finally completed build! Just give you idea im not talking crazy at 80mph you can lay into the gas and the car well blow the 22inch tires out!!!! that was the last thing he did before it went back to the shop for more....then he loss his life....now the car has to be sold!

Na, I personally would make some BIG changes with it. BTW, I agree with the 14 posts deep guy. A car is a money pit, don't ever expect to get back what you put in it. Besides, the only person who could afford this thing would have to have cash. A bank in NO right mind would give that kinda change on a 03 like that. Needless to say, the market has considerably shrunk for the seller. 18K is more like the number that this thing will bring and that again would have to be cold hard cash.

You're being generous. You have to think who you are planning to sell this car to. If its a person in the Market for a Marauder. They wouldn't consider this car. If its someone that wants a fast car they also won't consider this car. Asking 40K for this car just eliminates even the people that might even think about wanting this car on looks alone. You have to find that one in a million person that has a lot of cash to throw away. (literally throw away)

I can certainly appreciate all the work that went into this car and somebody expressing their love for a car, but seriously you can't think this thing looks good. Marauder or not, that could be a Honda and I wouldn't think it looked good. It's one thing to have flash, it's another to just be loud.
It's a shame because with those talents, he really could hve built an amazing car that would appeal more to the masses as opposed to someone looking for a loud standout car.

Why do u feel like that?..... alot of these same comments were made about the DPB Marauder on 24's that was being sold on Craigslist in Atlanta also... the one with the Procharger. That one sold for 17k i believe.... and a majority of the sight expressed its disgust about the car. so why wouldnt another custom one on rims be able to get sold?... everyone doesnt want stock.

Rims are easy to replace. If I was in the market for a Marauder then I wouldn't care too much if it had rims on it. I can sell them and buy stockers.
Porno red interior along with a complete ticket me red exterior is not easy to change back to stock. It would require a special someone to appreciate the look of the car as well. If I had 40k to spend on something fast, I would be looking Z06 vette, GT500, or terminator cobra. Not a Marauder with unknown mods, non factory paint or interior and overpriced by $25k.
TooManyFords
06-29-2010, 01:06 PM
I was going to say about the same thing. I really dig the porno red interior but I'd be painting it either white or black on the outside. Having already dipped a Marauder a different color, I know what goes in to that.
So, I raise my offer to $6000 and you can keep the rims as long as factory rims come with it.
Now, if you want to keep the motor/trans to part that out, I'd still give you $2500 for just the body.

so no one like the blue either.....interesting....so my real question is why anyone on the board doesnt like anything other than stock marauders....the blue was just blue w/ light blue flames, custom interior and 24s...the rearend was custom done so a wider offset could go on the back, semi-built cobra motor w/ a procharger and the car sold for around 18k and this red car is 3x times faster...I knew the owner of the blue car aswell! these 2 guys use to compete with each other!
the car price well probably need to go down to sale the red car.....one thing I do agree on and i was informed once someone is truly interested the complete breakdown of everything on the car well be available, the car has alot of things done to it, I just thought atleast yall respect the motor, red is loud yes not as bad in person, someone could buy that car sell the rims, get some different ones and paint the car black and have a true beast on the streets....

Actually, I think that darker red looked better. Anyway, these cars came with a pretty decent interior stock. It goes w/ most exterior colors well. Interior color changes really shouldn't be done unless you can find a complete one in the color you want from a donor car and your choices are limited with Marauders.

Doing something radical to a limited loved car and defending it in a forum where no one rolls like that, I'm sorry my friend, it just won't gain a lot lof love here.

That Bonneville nice as hell... thats all i have to say
he sold it awhile back and the new owner wrecked it....was looking at the car last wk smh!!!
everything he owned accept for a few cars had motor work....hell the k5 blazer even had a supercharged motor in it then a 383 stroker....the bonneville had headers, exhaust and was chipped..the car was painted twiced and the rims were changed 3 times! and yeah he liked the carshow thing so he would have the shop and friends drive his cars out there! that jeep has a built motor...the jeep was sold to a friend who drives it likes it stolen everytime he is in it!

My problem is, I HATE the oversized tires. I realize that many think it's cool, but it makes me think the thing should be parked at a Gas and Sip on Friday night. Your friend has talent, no doubt, just not taste. Well that's not fair, it's not my taste.
Doing something radical to a limited loved car and defending it in a forum where no one rolls like that, I'm sorry my friend, it just won't gain a lot lof love here.
But like I said, he does excellent work, but if if you ahd that thing styled the way we would like it, i don't think anyone is going to pony up $80K for it, or even $40K
agree to disagree but you are right for the taste of this forum.....if it had stayed silver, regular interior, no bigger then a 20inch wheel and had the motor setup and everything it would easily sell for 20k....i understand that!

hey man, what are the specs on the engine? that looks like a 2.3 on top
That is not 2.3.
It's a Polished 3.4! Trust me, I know the tell tale sign of a 3.4.
I'm not sure I would feel comfortable with that one fuel line real close to the blower pulley!
And I doubt that is a 5.4L block, possibly 5.3L bored & stroked from 4.6 block.

his profession didnt led to his death...a fight at a nightclub led to it, he was shot in a parking due to a disagreement between someone he knew and a security guard.

I think if it was repainted black and original rims back on, albeit widened, the "porno red" interior would actually look sharp. When you open the trunk, is there a mini disco ball and mini bar?

I just noticed that this (Content edited here) car - is located in Atlanta. I emailed the seller via ebay and invited him to bring it to our next breakfast 7/17. Lets see if I get a response or if he shows up.
