You should use the 5 W 20 IMO.
I would recommend synthetic Mobil1 or Royal Purple.

No you shouldn't run 10w30 oil. The engines today run very close tolerances and a heavier weight oil will not lubricate properly.

You can run

5w20
5w30
0w20
0w30

Ever seen one of those recommended oil charts, shpwing different weight oils to use based on outside temps? The MM engine is no different than any others. I think it's fine. IMO

Have you ever read your owners manual?

"SAE 5W-20 engine oil is recommended. Only use oils “Certified For Gasoline Engines” by the American Petroleum Institute (API). Use Motorcraft or an equivalent oil meeting Ford specification SS-M2C153–H. SAE 5W-20 oil provides optimum fuel economy and durability performance meeting all requirements for your vehicle’s engine. Do not use supplemental engine oil additives, oil treatments or engine treatments. They are unnecessary and could, under certain conditions, lead to engine damage which is not covered by your warranty. Change your engine oil and filter according to the appropriate schedule listed in the scheduled maintenance guide. Ford production and aftermarket (Motorcraft) oil filters are designed for added engine protection and long life. If a replacement oil filter is used that does not meet Ford material and design specifications, start-up engine noises or knock may be experienced.
It is recommended you use the appropriate Motorcraft oil filter (or
another brand meeting Ford specifications) for your engine application.

"Does it matter...?" The first question I have to ask is why do you WANT to?

I will tell you that there's no good reason to use 10W-30. Your gas mileage will suffer a tiny bit, and you will have a very slight loss of performance, but to answer your question, no...it doesn't really matter unless you do a lot of cold starts and in Birmingham I don't think it generally gets cold enough to be a problem.

If you're concerned about 5W-20 being "too thin", that's hogwash and was disproved years ago.
