Well a local man brought us his Extreme Sport Track this truck has a 4.6 3V motor in it, So I called Vortech and they did not make a kit, there is a Eaton style out there by a company, but it is VERY labor intensive, and requires the fire wall to be massaged as to putting it lightly, so I again called John at Vortech, they agreed to send me a dummy head unit and a 3V mount kit, and Steve pulled it in and started a tear down, and it fits perfect, the issue is the OEM radiator has to go along with the blade cooling fan, will use a air to air heat exchanger, and will run about 6 PSI, if I can do a clean install Vortech will send them to us, so here are the initial pictures.

For some reason I thought that SportTracks had only V6 engines.

The first generations did only have the V6 available, but the newer ones have basically the same 3V engine that's in the Mustang GT with a 6spd auto. Engine is derated a bit, to like, 292hp, but it still runs pretty well. I like them pretty well.

Are you going to add a limited slip differential?

Will probably just do this a step at a time the first thing is to h get a kit in there that works well and looks good, then get the truck dialed in, a limited slip will probably be a SURE THING.

The truck in the 2nd pic up top is a Adrenalin (the watered-down Appearance Package, not the awesome SVT concept).

Looks very cool Dennis that Sport track has the tow package and should already have a limited slip. Look at the tag on the rear diff should say (3.55L) I can't wait to see the end results in theory this kit should work on the Explorers and Mountaineers with the 3v 4.6 :hmmm:. I wounder if the wife would notice if her Explorer vanished for a few days.

Well it has been several weeks since I gave any updates, I will start with the sport track, then work on Jflave, here is the sport track with the OEM radiator installed as shown the S/C will been in the way of the upper radiator hose, we also have a kit to swivel the intakes watter neck.

http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/stockradiator.jpg

http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/stockradiatorwithmount.jpg

So we chose a deep high flow aluminum radiator

http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/newhighflow.jpg

And we went with a 4000 CFM flex light fan

http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/flexlight.jpg

http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/fanpositioned.jpg

With this setup every thing clears we will have to come up with new URH and LRH, the S/C inlet will connect directly to the stock air box the after cooler Will actually fit in between the fan and the front of the motor, more pictures to follow.

Well I started this in July I had to wait six weeks on a dummy head unit from Vortech and a mount to see if it would fit, and it did so we ordered up the rest of the parts, this is a 3 valve motor it had a blade driven fan with a speed sensor, we removed it added a high capacity aluminum radiator, and a flex a lite fan 39 lb injectors I am trying to keep the stock maf, as you can see in the pictures I even kept the stock air box, I used a Marauder cooling reservoir and we relocated it to the drives side, I think the install looks pretty good the truck starts and idled perfect with a base file and it goes on the dyno in the morning, I want to than John at Vortech for all his help.

Well fe finished the dyno today I am satisfied with the results, at only six PSI you can see what it made, I am going to finish some cosmetic work and it is ready for pick up.

Thank you Gary, I actually never moved the cursor to the end of the run, and I caught it this morning when the customer was here to pick it up, the truck made 362/301 at 6.3 PSI and yes he wants to up the boost.:)

Great Job on the Sport Track Dennis.

Pappadeaux is tough to beat. The Pontchartrain Pan-Broiled Fillet topped with crab meat & shrimp in a brown-butter wine sauce with dirty rice, is awfully good.

How much power do your think the drivetrain is good for... If he keeps up'ing the boost (boost bug) he will surely be replacing parts... & 4 wheel drive drivetrain can't be a cheap upgrade...
