I'm really up in the air about 4.10's for my Marauder. I like the way the gears are now but I think i might do it if the performance gain is really worth it. I know it feels faster but does anybody have any before and after results in the 1/4 mile with just the 4.10's? Thanks guys!

My car is tuned with a CAI, but still has 3.55's. If you wanna drive mine and see if you like it, let me know.

I got an intake with a tune as well and my next mods are steeda u/d them probably 4.10's but I'm still not sure of that yet. I guess I'll wait untill after the pulleys.

The loss of 1-2 mpg is well worth the off the line performance gains with the 4.10's.

You'll love the 4.10's.

+1 and many , many others who have done it----no one I know who has done it has been disappointed---anything but!

I might have to take you up on that Adam/cleveland. even if i'm not driving it would still help. From what I can tell, your car moves out hard enought to make me happy. lol

Totally agree, if I wanted to save gas I'd drive my Taurus or buy a Hybrid.

I can't really give a lot of detail cause of all the other mods I have had for such a long time while waiting for 4.10s but with the PI 3500 converter the car really has a strong mid range and requires very little throttle to pass another car or just get up to speed.

Tune, intake and 4.10 gears are a must even if that's all you do.

^^^^^^ What they said ^^^^^^

4.10 gears and a tune and it'll feel like a whole new car.

With the O/D transmission, you'll only see a couple hundred rpm at hwy speed, and the car will actually perform better at 65 - 70 mph with 4.10s as you'll be running a bit higher up in the power curve.

FWIW, Steve Babcock, the Program Manager for the Marauder, intended the car to be equipped with 4.10s OEM, but the beancounters shot it down, so if you install the gears you'll actually be retrofitting the car to what it was SUPPOSED to be.

4:10's and a tune will be worth your while. If you ever plan on S/Cing the car and keeping the original block in the car becareful how much boost you use with 4:10's. A few members have torpedoed their engines. If your not S/Cing you car I say go for it. You'll be glad you did. We will be doing ours eventually. Don't forget the CAI too.

How much have you guys paid for the installation? I just ordered my 4.10 gears 5 minutes ago and want to line up the install.

Well i don't know about before and after, what I can tell you is this. My 07 GT Mustang with just a custom tune gets up and hauls the mail, 0-60 is lightning. I just bought my Marauder with
4.10
CAI
Headers
and tune

And I can tell you it would give my Mustang a great run for the money from the line, and would smoke it in the 1/4

Get the the gears, you'll love them, it's a different car

Mine cost $200.00 & a case of beer. I supplied all the parts. The original quote was for $250.00. The installer charged less because the new gears bolted right in, didn't need to add or remove any shims.

Well I get about 19mpg, in a mixture of highway and city, about the same as my stock Vic

Yep, not much of a difference unless you have a very heavy right foot but the decrease in mpg will increase the grin on your face.

I would recommend them. Be carefull though and get a good shop to do the install. Don't just assume that your local dealership knows what they are doing. My ford dealership installed mine and I have gear whine like crazy. And no, they didn't give me any cheese with that whine.

I have 4.10s, a slightly modified Lidio tune, and JLT intake and some hacked up exhaust work.

I did a near 240 mile round trip highway run twice this past weekend, with probably less than 10 miles of that being under the speed of 70. Got gas at a highway station and took off from there, so ALL highway. At the 240 mile mark on the trip odometer, the needle was a little over half a tank still. Considering I payed between $25 and $30 to fill it back up immediately once I got back to the same station and premium is about 2.83 here right now, (unless my math is wrong) I'm pretty sure that makes my mpg between 24 and 27 on the highway. Even at 24, I think that's FANTASTIC for this car.

So take my testimony as you will. :)

Well I can tell ya from my experience when I first purchased the MM it came with a D/R tune,4:10 and 3500rpm PI converter, the gas mileage wasn't that great I was lucky to get 22 MPG, I 'm guessing the convertor had alot to do with this but ever since I put the trilogy on and had the stock converter installed and of course lidio tune my average MPG is 28, I'LL know better when I take the car next month on a family road trip of 2000 miles.

Why?????

I'm still running the stock driveshaft.

If you don't run over 120-140mph for any length of time you'll be OK.

Honestly the differnece in mpg should be negligible, but then again if we wanted good gas mileage we would be driving a prius. Your ride should be enjoyed and the gears will bring endless smiles. Glad to see you're doing it

I'll be getting a CVPI MMX DS, one of my weights on the stock driveshaft is starting to peel away.

I want to be ensure that I can do what I need to do in my car wihout it breaking! I for one like to get up in the higher speeds and don't want to be feeling like my car has a speed limiter! I think it's the right way of having it done for sure..

On my trip tomorrow to Charlotte I'll be running at 78 -79mph for most of the 3 hour trip, like I've done many times before with no issues.

Lol ok let's just say I like to like to flip my speedo needle upside down! So I suppose I'm goin to be in need of a driveshaft as well which make the bolt on a bit more expensive.

Well I'll tell you the truth, your not really supposed to do that lol but I've done it a few times burning a mustang or a rice rocket and once on a very lonely highway road on a trip from Tampa. So that's kinda my case that I don't want to feel as if I can't go a certain speed if I need to and driveshafts aren't cheap!

I dropped a full second off my ET with 4.10's, no other mods other than changing the calibration on the tune. Well worth it, mileage didn't suffer much either.

Everyone will have slightly different performance gains from gears at the track.

Intake, tune and 4.10 gears are a solid low 14's all day long, throw in a torque converter and should see 13's quite easily.

I do a lot of highway, so I am going to stick with the 3.55.

I would like to get a tune, but my funds have gone towards my new motorcycle!
