Heres my story. Just purchased my marauder about 2 weeks ago...One week into it i decide it needs some tint. Bring it to the shop, guy is suppose to do it on saturday. Calls me back saying that his tint guy is having a problem with the back window because its in a shape of a bubble or something like that. The more experience guy will be in monday to do the job. I dont see any problems with that even though i feel it weird that the back window is harder to tint. Anyways, monday the car is ready I go and pick it up and i notice a nice sratch where the gas cap is (through the clear). I told him im not paying for the tint because of this scartch that wasnt there...so he comes back to me and says well just pay for my material, 80$...which i though was fair....anyways nightmare story...but it gets worst...

Now after one week, seems like im noticing a bunch of little air/dirt bubbles, seems like there are more and more everyday. I mean i can live with some but one window is pretty bad. Im not very happy right now. Im assuming theses are not normal and I should bring it back....

Would like to hear from you guys....

pay 75.00 bucks to get it removed, or steam it off yourself, do some research and go find a professional with a guarantee......talk to them up front about what's covered and whats not........Yes it is hard to tint the back window by not impossible, if you take your time, tinting is a lost art...shops especially stereo shops and others use it as a sideline, no pros there. Use only a dedicated tint shop..............

the problem is, this is a professional shop! Suppose to be the best shop in Ottawa!

What I am trying to find out from you guys is this normal? is this acceptable? will these go away?

Thats why I am here posting because its my first time getting tints on a car and I dont know what to expect. It does look like a bad job to me but then again im new at this Looking for second opinions.

Some bubbles remain after a tint job, did they tell you to leave your windows up and park it in the hot sun for a few days (24 hours in hot sunlight), then the bubbles will disappear.

If it's been more that a week, I'd Take it back to the "professional" shop and ask them to fix it.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it!

That's unacceptable, you paid for tint , not bubbles, they need to fix it................

They did a crappy job. Need a better tint shop.

When I got mine done. They told me the same thing, our back windows is one of the most difficult windows to tint because of the roundness but all 7 windows that they tinted came out awesome. For the rear he explained they had to take a heat gun and streach the tint and form it to the rear window. Been 5 months, still looks great, plus I have a lifetime warrenty, that's from extreme tinting here in edmonton. Cant go wrong for 230 bucks.

Tint is a seriously fickle mistress...I have had some great jobs and some crappy...finding a good one is like a good barber, once you find em keep em! I know that didnt really help, but its a thought process to pursue in seekingperfection...keep searching bro, its worth it!

I would get it done some where else. Here's the thing though, peeling tint off of that rear window can be tricky. If you accidentally mess up the rear defrost grid there is no way to fix it. You will never have rear defrost unless you replace the rear window.

Try gently pressing each bubble on the inside with you finger. Bigger ones, you can poke with a pin and press them down. If that doesn't work, take it back to the shop. See what they say.

I had mine done by a shop that was awesome. They did work for the local dealership that sold fleet vehicles to the government. They must have tinted 300+ Crown Vics. My tint was perfect when he was done. He layed the tint on the outside of the window first and stretched it with a heat gun before putting it on the glass. Took 4 hours, but it was done right. Its a shame you are all the way in Canada!

Mine had bubbles in it, but the guy said they would work their way out if I kept it in the sun for a couple days. They all went away and it looks mint!

Tinting the rear window is not a task to be handed to amateurs, and yet a high-quality tint installer will not have a problem tinting this (or any) window. Small 'bubbles' are typically visible only during the first day or two; any 'bubbles' remaining visible thereafter will not go away on their own.

I humbly suggest that you identify a more reputable shop and then pay them for their higher-level skill...........or the bubbles will bug you every time you look at the vehicle.

DJCV, I think you are right I most likely will have to go to an other shop...Anyways, called the guy today told him about my problem he told me what i knew...leave in sun etc. But its now getting worst i see more and more bubbles....what a pain in the ass that has turned out to be...they will take a look at it wednesday, ill get them to fix it, if its still no good, im taking it somewhere else....ithey are not getting a dime out of me, im cancelling my cheque!

Went back to the place yesterday he pushed down the bubbles with some type of plastic scrapper...looks much better now, told me to wait a few days to see if they pop back up if they do, he said he would redo....cant complain about that...
