Last friday when we went to Dukes for our cars to be filmed, we were asked to return. The man contucting the interview said he wanted us to return to ask some FAQs. Stuff like what to look out for when buying a used one, what is the difference between a 2003 and 2004, what's a common thing to break... stuff like that.
I would say we should have ten questions.
What would you ask? What should be tell everyone?
Please post up a relevant reply.
Thanks.

Not to derail your thread with the first reply, but these types of threads are ALL OVER THIS SITE. Hell, even I have a thread about this. Search a little.

Irrevant. I've had it with you guys. I am posting to make our Marauders well know and sound professional.
I get this BS from you and crap from everyone else saying I am a liar. If I wanted to search I would, but it's useless. I wanted options from everyone else, not just look up info from the past and call it a day.

Nothing you have to say is ever important. This thing happened anyway. Guess who wasn't there? YOU!

Actually it seems to be quite the opposite.

Give the guy a break. I was there and he was happy to answer my questions. All the owners/families showed real pride with their MMs. Since questions probably do change over time why not ask again and get a current list, especially if there will be a media segment on it? I would be interested in such a list because I hear different answers all the time.

Looking at the source I am not suprised. You are literally quoting yourself.

I'm so glad that you will be representing all Marauder owners in your usual 'professional' manner.
I get this BS from you and crap from everyone else saying I am a liar.
I didn't call you a liar...I just said that you defy the laws of physics when racing other people.
If I wanted to search I would, but it's useless.
Just be honest Dom, You DON'T want to search because that would preclude you from starting another thread.
I wanted options from everyone else, not just look up info from the past and call it a day.
Here's a few of my frequently asked questions:
Why does Dom start 5 -6 threads per day?
Why does Dom treat this site like his personal blog space?
How can Dom beat vehicles that are lighter and more powerful in a race?
Is it all because of his superior driving skill with an automatic transmission?
Why doesn't Dom EVER use the search function?
When is Dom going to kill someone or himself while street racing?
When is Dom going to wreck or blow up his Marauder and get another, different car, then join another internet forum?

I wouldn't compile a list of things that break for obvious reasons, no one else does......
Besides, everything that was bad on MM's doesn't compare to the huge list of things on other auto's. I would bring up the differences that set it apart from "just a GM", rarity, .net and the family of friends, and perhaps highlights from major meets.

Question 1. Why is the DTR Marauder the coolest color? Because Black, Blue, and Silver are not!!
This is an opinion not a fact as was asked by Dom. A more relevant and factual question would be "Why are DTR's the slowest color all other things being equal":dunno::neener:

Here's a few of my frequently asked questions:
Why does Dom start 5 -6 threads per day? I like Marauders.
Why does Dom treat this site like his personal blog space? I don't anymore, being that all threads are Marauder related
How can Dom beat vehicles that are lighter and more powerful in a race? It's not the size of the dog, but the fight in the dog.
Is it all because of his superior driving skill with an automatic transmission? My transmission is "built" so maybe.
Why doesn't Dom EVER use the search function? It's useless as therapy.
When is Dom going to kill someone or himself while street racing? I will kill myself in a few years if I am not where I wanna be in life. It'll be in my K5 too to lower my chances of survival. Plus someone will be able to have my Marauder.
When is Dom going to wreck or blow up his Marauder and get another, different car, then join another internet forum? Never. If I damage it I'll throw it in the gutter and go get another. I wll keep rebuilding this one though...

"I will kill myself in a few years if I am not where I wanna be in life."
That one quote from Dom pretty much explains everything I need to know about him. Defend him if you want to as a "rebel", a funny guy, "just Dom", whatever. Read some of the things he says he does. :shake:
Oh, well. It's just Dom......

2003-2004 Mercury Marauder
Questions and Answers
1. Do they still make the Mercury Marauder?
Answer: No, they were a limited production vehicle and only offered in the 2003 and 2004 model year.
2. How many Marauders did they make?
Answer: Only 11,052 total Mercury Marauders were made.
3. They only came in Black, right?
Answer: Most Marauders that you will see are Black with 8,330 produced. However, a limited number were made in a few other colors such as 1,414 Silver Birch; 980 Dark Toreador Red; and 328 Dark Blue Pearl.
4. Its nothing special -- just a Crown Victoria or a Grand Marquis with rims, correct?
Answer: Don’t ever say that to a Marauder owner. There are lots of differences. First is the 4.6 liter DOHC modular engine. In stock form, this engine puts out 302 horsepower at the crank. This is about 50 more horsepower than available from the standard CV or GM 4.6 liter SOHC engine. In addition, the Marauder has a beefed up suspension to help it handle in the corners and eliminate much of the body roll of its cousins. It has 3.55 rear gears. Marauders come with a true dual exhaust with polished Megs tips. Polished aluminum 18” inch wheels were also part of the standard Marauder package. The raked profile is the result of it air bag suspension and different tires front and rear. The fronts are BFG g-Force KDWS 235/50/18 and the rears are BFG KDWS 245/55/18. The interior is loaded with lots of Marauder specific items including the shifter console, “Marauder” moniker below the speedometer, “God’s Head” embossed on the seats and oil and voltages gauges.
5. What modifications are available for the Marauder?
Answer: Popular modifications include a custom tune to improve power and the shifting schedule, 4.10 rear gears, Cold Air Intake, K&N air filter, suspension mods such as control arms and Watt’s links. Many other modifications are available on the aftermarket for the Marauder. By far, the most desired modification is a Supercharger. Superchargers are available from three sources including: Trilogy Motorsports (roots type), Vortec (centrifugal type) and Procharger (centrifugal type).
6. How fast is the Marauder?
Answer: From the factory, the Marauder can be considered a 15 second car (more or less). But since the Marauder was introduced in the summer of 2002, gearheads and horsepower pioneers have pushed the limit on these cars. The fastest Marauder to date set a Marauder ¼ mile record of 9.674@139.13. The next quickest Marauder is at 10.301@130.82. Nearly 70 Marauders have confirmed ¼ mile slips under 13 seconds and would put many of the muscle cars of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s to shame. Not bad for a car that weighs in at about 4,200 pounds without the driver.
7. But it looks like an Old Man’s car. True?
Answer: Obviously, Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder. Marauder owners have created their own “on-line” club at MercuryMarauder.Net which boasts 4,285 members. These members range in age from 16 to 81 years of age. The Marauder’s style and power appeals to a very large cross-section of the population and appears to cross all age, income, background, and other demographic indicators.
8. Why would I want to buy a Marauder?
Answer: The first and most obvious answer is that it is a fun car to drive. It handles well and has all the power you need out on the highway. It is extremely comfortable on long trips, has plenty room for moving family and friends in comfort and style. The large trunk can carry all of your vacation luggage items or toys. On the highway, the Marauder can give you up to about 25 MPG enroute to the beach, the mountains or to the wife’s relatives place. And, when you get there …. You are all ready to head to the race track.
9. But its just another car?
Answer: Not true. This car turns heads where ever it goes. At car shows it draws attention and comments from the crowd. On the highway, it produces the Crown Vic effect by parting traffic in front of you when the left lane hogs get around to looking in the rear view mirror. Marauder owners participate in local, regional and national meetings and gather just to have lunch or dinner, meet up at car-related events, just hang out together, or spend several days visiting new areas and venues. The big annual Marauder event is known as Marauderville. Since 2003, this event has been held in Ennis, TX (MV I); Indianapolis, IN (MV II); Detroit, MI (MV III); Orlando, FL (MV IV); Hagerstown, MD (MV V); St. Louis, MO (MV VI); and Indianapolis, IN (MV VII). This year Marauderville VIII (MV8) will be hosted by the Carolina Marauders in Charlotte, NC from 8-12 September 2010.
10. How much does a Marauder cost?
Answer: The original MSRP/List price for a Marauder was a little over $35,000. The MM.Net club still has many of the original owners represented who have been driving and enjoying their Marauder for nearly 8 years. Marauders are coming available on the used car market and you can probably pick one up for about $13,000 on average. Of course, there are some that are priced a little higher and some are a little lower. It just depends on mileage, condition and what you are willing to pay for a part of American Muscle Car History.

The console and floor shifter isn't Marauder specific. Crown Vic LX Sport and Grand Marquis LSE got it first.
