So I make some mods, detail the engine and bay take her out for a spin and she starts this darn loud clicking noise. Shut her down, lifted the hood and started her back up. Sure enough, the fan motor is making this loud clicking noise when engaged. Not sure what the hell on this issue, but wanted to hear some responses from you folks. BTW, I did make some test by unplugging the fan motor during the clicking fit and it would stop as soon as the fan motor lost RPM.

Thanks folks.

Just found a straight crack in my fan blade. Guess that could be making the noise at a high RPM.

Going to buy a new one.

Cracked blade could be dangerous...use great caution & replace.

I've never seen or heard my fan running. It must go on because the car never overheats.

I just replaced the fan with a Dorman and wow. There is a ton more air flow. Just waiting for her to cool down to add coolant and burp. Had to remove the overflow tank in order to get the new fan in. The Dorman was a direct bolt it. Seems to be built a little better than the OEM. Sure does have more air flow coming through.

it IS possible to get the fan out with out taking the expansion tank out but it sure does make it easier.

Oh, I got it out without taking out the overflow. However, getting it back in with the overflow seemed to be much more of a challenge with only two hands. I'm glad it was only a fan. At first I thought it was the A/C compressor. Fan easy and cheap. BTW, you guys are great for bouncing thoughts off of. Thanks for all the feedback.

it is also possible to get it back in by your self, its just a pita, but i hate playing with coolant so i went a head and did it that way. just figured id let you know, i just did this last month
