How would one go about connecting the factory marauder sub-amp combo to an aftermarket tuner? I recently bought a sony CDX-GT640UI. It has a presub output (two 6" long rca female cables). Could I splice/soldier the factory preamp and amp harness somewhere? Any advice would be AWESOME!

also, could one connect an aftermarket sub to the factory amp? Is that just a dumb idea?
Thanks!

No splicing required - just pick up a wire harness at a local Best Buy or somewhere that sells car audio. I used a Best Kits BHA5800 in my Marauder to hook up a Pioneer deck.
Also you may want to get a BKFMK550 because the deck you're putting in is what they call "Single DIN" and the stock Marauder is "double DIN." The adapter will make it look like a nice professional install and you gain a nice little pocket to put your remote in (if your deck comes with one).

This I haven't tried, nor have I found a good source of information for the wire colors on the Ford sub amps. The factory sub is actually pretty decent but if you want more than what it has, you're probably better off adding a new amp and a bigger 10"+ sub or two.

Thanks! I installed an aftermarket single din radio mount with a map pocket just like you said. I keep my iphone and remote in there. Very convenient! :)
