New to the site. I have an '03 MM and I just received my X3 tuner today from Rienhart's. Can someone tell me where I can obtain a Zack Tune. It seems to be the way to go. My tuner only has, from what I can tell, the base SCT tune. And, will this require me to send this thing back out. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

You've already paid for a tune from Dennis Reinhart. If it needs to be tweeked, talk to Dennis, who is a Supporting Vendor at MercuryMarauder.net.

And read the last post in this thread (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=64310) to learn about the 'truthfulness' of Zack's tunes, and if you want to avoid getting sued.

(All of which you can confirm in a short phone call, not with Zack or Dennis, but with SCT.)

I don't think Zack or anybody else on here has been sued.

Sued for what? Actually, never mind.

Wow, I never thought flashing a PCM could cause so much controversy. Is this really that big of a deal? Just food for thought.... Maybe if SCT provided instructions with their tuners, mine did not, and didn't leave so much to the imagination or if the instructions you eventually find on their site were a little more detailed it wouldn't leave anyone with any questions as to what tune is in their programmer. I was told nothing and saw or read nothing that said my tuner was already programmed with a tune. If it did come with a tune it would've been nice if someone let me know. Then, I read the forums here and find a 50/50 mix of what seems like good information or pure controversy. And for what????? Tuning your car. Isn't it possible that two persons could come up with the same tune, the same result and offer them to others. I don't know enough to get into arguing one side or the other. I merely asked a question. And, the getting sued stuff doesn't really frighten me. I'm a cop and I've been hearing that for 10 years. Haven't been sued yet, and haven't given anyone a reason to. I certainly don't plan on getting sued for tuning my car. At this point I wish the friggin thing just had a carburetor on it. Anyway, I want to thank the member that has been PMing me. You got me pointed in the right direction. I'll leave your name out because I'm sure you, being a member much longer than me, have read/heard enough of this tuning nonsense. Lighten up guys. This is supposed to be fun.

Suggest you give Dennis a ring. He will fill you in on what is loaded on your tuner and how to extract it. Welcome to the site and happy motoring!!
