i have a floor jack.... im trying to jack the car up.... how can i do this... im trying to slide it straight down the middle under neath the bumber but its getting caught on the plastic piece thats connected to the radiator. and even when i slide it past that it still doesnt reach a solid place to jack it from.
do i have to jack up one side and use a stand.... then go to the otherside, jack it and use another one?.... i would rather just slide down the middle and just jack once. u feel me?....

I have a low profile jack and it get's to the middle crossmember without any issues.
On another note be careful working with jacks and please use stands. You don't sound like your use to doing it.

I come at it from an angle to get past my intercooler and there is a nice spot on the sub-frame/cross member deal. I don't know if you'd even be able to see the spot with the plastic thing installed. Also no I don't think putting the jack on the plastic thing will end well.

+1, You should always be using jack stands anyways! Never trust just having a jack!

The fact that you asked that question means you are not capable of working on your car in a safe manner.

oh come on, we learned one way or another. merc, like suggested above, you should use jack stands anytime you jack a vehical and plan on going under it. jack stands dont cost very much and are well worht it

That's the point I was trying to make. If you have to ask then don't do it. This is a basic in when being taught how to mechanic.

Drive it up onto two 2" x 6" planks and that will give some room to get the jack under.
