Greetings, everyone!

I just purchased a 2003 Mercury Marauder over the Fourth of July weekend, to take over duties from my 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis (the brake lines rotted out at 283,000+ miles.:bigcry:)

I look forward to picking a lot of brains here as I get to know the new car, and hopefully I can help some people out, too, since I do have 14 years of Panther platform knowledge!

Congrats and welcome :welcome1: to the MM.Net. Enjoy the ride and get yourself booked for Marauderville VIII (MV8) down in Charlotte, NC. This is the 8th annual gathering of Marauder owners from across the county. You really don't want to miss this one.

Welcome to MM.net. You just missed the All-Fords at Carlisle. Pen it in for next year. Beginning of June. If you can't make MV8 keep your eyes peeled as there are rumblings of a CAM meet late in the year before the snow flies.

There's nothing too specific I need right now (probably a few interior trim pieces from the previous owner's wear, and I think I can get those from fordpartswebsite.com)

I am having an issue with the AC (figures, I buy a black car, hottest week of the year, and have AC trouble!) but I've done the research here and at crownvic.net and I think the EATC control is the issue. It blows out of the defroster vents in just about any position.

The one strange thing I've encountered in a missing bulb in the underhood light. The manual says it takes a 211-2 bulb, but I looked at the socket, and ended up putting in a 194 bulb and it worked. Odd.

I just did the heartbreaking task of cleaning out the glovebox and trunk in my Grand Marquis, and I moved it to an area where it's out of the way in my apartment complex.

Thanks again, everyone, and you can count on me for Fords at Carlisle next year!

Good luck with the car! Replacement O rings are probably all you'll need to fix the AC. I live in N-E Philadelphia, so we're neighbors...If you need factory parts, you can rely on Ray at Chapman Ford and Lincoln Mercury on Roosevelt Blvd.

Thanks! Ray at Chapman, is the the guy that used to work the parts counter at Northeast Lincoln-Mercury before they merged? (If so, I know him well!) I also have Reedman about five minutes from me, and their parts guys are very helpful.

Yes...Ray (and Wes) moved to the Chapman parts counter after N-E L/M went out of business. Besides Reedman, you also have McCafferty Ford right across the street in Langhorne. I usually buy my Ford parts from Ray, and he's been a good friend of mine for many years.

Haven't heard from Ray, I guess they didn't do the cruise nights this year.

Unfortunately, you're correct. After many successful years, Philly's Best Cruise has been discontinued (until further notice). It was fun while it lasted...
