Hey guys, question: I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to supercharging and such, but is stock compression ok to run a supercharger on? Example being, can you bolt an eaton onto a stock 4.6 DOHC without worrying about KABOOM?

The thing that makes it go KABOOM is the tune. If you get a safe tune you'll most likely be OK. An aggressive tune and the chances of KABOOM rise!
Many members have added a supercharger to a non-modded motor and driven many thousands of miles with no problems.

An Eaton from Trilogy or a Vortech from Reinhart would be safe, as they come with tunes that were developed to work with stock motors. If you buy a used kit, or try to DIY, then the tune is much more critical. You should bring it to someone with a lot of experience tuning supercharged modular motors.
Disclaimer: Please note that if you drive like a moron, use low-octane fuel, crank up the boost, overheat the car, etc, then you increase the risk of damage, even on the kits I mentioned.

10,1:1 here with 14lbs 12* of timing, no boom yet
Run low boost with a good tune for longevity.

And I might add excessive RPM. On the stock motor, keep the R's at 6000 or below & with a decent tune & good gas, Thrash Away!

not disagreeing, but mine has seen close to 7k pretty regularly for the last year or so, still living.
