So the other day I was horsing around and the gas pedal stuck after a WOT stint. Kind of scary but I shut it down and had to move the throttlebody back by hand. I have checked everything and it all looks good,no binding ect. I still think the gas pedal does not feel just wright, but it could be my imagination.
Could someone post or send a close picture of there throttle body. It is Trilogised if that heps. I want to see the spring on the throttle shaft and how square the throttle cable "pull" is to the throttlebody?
Thank-you
Chad.
I don't want this to happen when my family is in the car.:help:

Chad you can compare to mine firsthand if you want, otherwise I can try to get pics that would help you. Though my Vortech setup might not help you a whole lot...
Let me know if you need to - I'm only 10 minutes away. Joe.

Make sure that it's not the cable.
Had a Mach 1 years ago and it turned out that my throttle sticking problem was that the throttle cable itself had started to cut through the cable case.

Thank-you. I will unhook it and check. It is wierd, but I think I may be over reacting. It just does not feel like the gas pedal stays in contact with my foot when I let off.

Happened to me in both my moms cars once. 2005 Lincoln Navigator and 1988 Mercedes 560 SL. I just kicked the petal towards me so to say when it got stuck and never had the problem sense then.

I suspect it must have got fractured during the Trilogy install, then alot of hard gas pedal mashing.
So who was at the track(Race City) on friday night? You guys know there are no secrets...I have my peeps! Make sure you let me know if you are going. I want to support/play. I guess it was good I did not go since that was the night the shaft broke.

I had a 1927 T-Ford and it had a string for the gas. The brake was on the floor. It ran great for the 8 years I had it.

Cool trick If you need a spring loaded throttle cable in a hurry and have a small length of skinny chain (like a dog chain) and a wide vaccum hose, you can make a custom size throtle linkage. Just pull the chain through the hose, hook the connectors to each end and volia. Semi rigid so it won't get snagged and tough enough to resist the stomping.
Did the string thing, but it broke.

I feel my go go pedal sticking a little , actually just when it opens .
Good ideas of what to look for besides the obvious throttle cable.

Mine was sticking right off idle and it just needed a good cleaning. Remove the throttle body from the car and clean it with throttle body cleaner.
Very easy.

I just cleaned the throttle body well not so long ago, I did not take it off, But I did scrub with a tooth brush inside and the throttle plate .
In the winter it does not see WOT too often, probably gets gummed up again with crappy winter blend.

No problem. I will add though that I originally cleaned my throttle body on the car with a toothbrush as well and still had a sticking throttle.
After removing it from the car the following weekend I found many spots (especially around where the shaft meets the housing) that were missed in my previous cleaning. The slight stick off idle was gone following this cleaning.

Same thing with the sticking right off idle with Phoebe...through cleaning of the TB cured it.

My gas pedal also stuck one time, at WOT on the freeway. Fortunately, it was after I did my shifter mod, so it was easy to put it into neutral and coast while the motor screamed at redline (5k when in neutral, as per my tune).
I mashed the pedal with my foot a few times and it got unstuck. I'm not sure why it got stuck, but I think it was due to the floor mat which constantly shifts around. Moved the mat back in place, stepped on the gas a few times to make sure it wasn't stuck anymore, dropped it back into drive and kept going - none the worse for wear.
