So in the last month I just started noticing a wierd vibration at idle...not a mis fire type it seems to come and go..just enough to make the steering wheel shake a tiny bit every 10-15 seconds. Anyone else had this? Dampner starting to go or just me being paranoid because my Aviator just burnt a couple valves :p

Thanx

Open the hood and check it out.

Do you have UD pulleys? If so, watch that oil pump! If you get harmonic problems with the engine, you could lose the pump rotors. Could be something loose somewhere too. How many miles on her?

Looks and sounds like it running fine. Just stock pullies. 90k kms. NOt a huge shake but noticable enough for me to tell.

Perhaps your 02 sensors are going out, causing it to run rich then lean as the computer tries to adjust to the inconsistant signals...

I had a similar problem, but my A/F gauge clued me in to what was happening...

02 sensors supposed to be good for 50K...changed mine at 60K...

Might throw some 02's in it..won't hurt. Also now that I think about it, it did happen shortly after I removed the rear cats..maybe just exhaust resonance....

Or was it 100K?

Wouldn't surprise me if I killed it at half it's age...:D:burnout:

None the less, it was the 02's, in my case...

What do you have for mod's?

Have you checked to see if a motor mount or a tranny mount is an issue that might cause it to do this?

Mounts are fine. Seems to be at 850 and 1400 rpm exactly...at cold start up (high idle) you can feel it coming and going...rpm doesn't change...you can feel it in the floor, the steering wheel, the floor...everyone I talk to says I'm just paranoid but why did I just notice it all of a sudden..Might also look into putting oem style exhaust dampners back on....
Just have cold air, tune by zack, flowmaster 44's, res delete tips and no rear cats.

I have a vibration at idle as well. I ordered a new pulley and plan on having it looked at asap. Its irritating me to point of not enjoying driving the car.

there are rubber isolators attached to the mufflers. i took mine off when i installed my aero's. i feel way more exhaust vibration at idle through the floor boards. but the vibration comes and goes at idle like you described. its almost like my idle is too low...

I have your exact problem, mine was from changing out the mufflers and removing the rear cats. It probably just harmonics 101
