The Sparta`s are made of steel, the Metco`s are machined billet aluminum.....
The sparta`s are cheaper $339 as opposed to the $425 Metco`s I just want to do this right ...... which do you guys think are the best bang for the buck ?
thank you in advance i`m looking forward to tightening up the car and think this is a good way to start out.....:burnout:

We have the Sparta CA's and Watts links. They are quality products. No issues in installing them and you can have them powder coated in different colors. Highly recommend.

I finally met Tommy(Sparta's owner) at Carlisle and he was a very nice guy. Like I said we love ours and you should also consider the Addco F/R swaybars in conjunction to the CA's and Links. Throw on a set of new rear shocks(we went with OEM) and the handling characteristics are nite and day. If you want a special powdercoat color get in touch with Tommy and he maybe able to hook you up with a special color, he did for us.

Save your cash and make your own. They will be just as strong as any control arm you can purchase, not to mention the stock bushin's are superior to anything on the aftermarket. Here's how: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=61530&highlight=Going+old+school

I take it the stock control arms flex? So stronger aftermarket ones are just stiffer?

Sparta's and Addco  Like Mr. Man said, night and day diffrence. I also have the Moog sway bar links up front. Huge difference over OEM, but pricey at $185.
Of you are asking which control arm is the best between the 2 I think you wold have to find a member who has had both on their car (good luck with that) to get an accurate answer.
I have the metcos simply because at the time they were the only available option.
I love my metcos car handles great!
And as far as price I got my metcos for $300. from never enough auto.

Stock arms and links are stamped. Aftermarket CA's are boxed or of an I-beam construction which is less prone to flex. This flexing can inhibit the car from reaching its full traction potential.
Making your own is a possibility if you are good at welding. You will need another set of CA's. There is a how to somewhere in search.
I'm no expert on bushings but I think you'd get an argument about the stock bushings being the best.
Metco's from what I hear are good too, but Sparta is a supporting vendor here.
If you search you will find lots of threads on the subject.:)

Metco bushins (in some cases) have failed. They are just too stiff for a 4200lb car. Search this topic it has been discussed here also

I've had no problems with the bushings in my Metcos for over 40k miles. I grease them along with the swaybar bushing 2x's a year with synthetic grease.

+1 never had issues with mine and this is the second MM this set was installed on. Metco will replace them for free if they fail. Know of 2 members who had issues called Metco and had replacements in the mail the next day. Bushings didn't fail because of the car but because the arms were tightened with the wheels hanging. This would be the case with any CA's if they were installed wrong.
If I was in the market for new ones I would go with the Sparta arms as they have the best bushing material of the group and are a high quality product. They look sweet and perform great on the cars I have seen and driven with them installed.

I'm using Zack's also.
If I were a new owner or didn't have any I'd probably go with Sparta's.

If you have any questions about my control arms just ask. I'll tell you the benefits of aftermarket arms vs factory bushings and why mine are THE BEST hands down.
