Allright you gurus! Any dangers to installing used 98 cobra cams in used heads? Any bearing surface issues? Some have said the cams wear into the aluminum over time and it's dangerous to swap like this. Thoughts, experiences??? Thanks! Oh yeah, cams are $125...

From what I read on them they will work 100%, the 96~98 cam's are a little more aggressive than the 99~04's

Yup! 20° more on duration! Lift is pretty much the same. I'm just worried about the cam journals.

Chech the archive's @SVTP.net I've read nothing but good thing's about this swap. Some dyno'ed 30rwhp. You already got the heads apart maybe consider it.
Since you don't apply to the N/A rule's I vote we make an Outlaw class!

Should be no problem swapping them in. They're better than stock but still really mild compared to most aftermarket grinds. I wouldn't spend a whole lot on the swap, but certainly worth the $125.
Next time I have mine apart I'm going to upgrade cams but I don't know when that will be. My current cams are Comp Extreme 258 series grind #106260, 222/224 duration, 475/450 lift.

It's just a way to say communicate... It's an IT term used when 2 PC's have an open line of communication (send/recieve). You can do a PING test on your PC. Goto start, then run, then type cmd and hit enter. When the black screen open's you can command a PING test to anything. (EX: ping yahoo.com) you must put a space between the word ping and the site. It will then tell you how fast the packet was sent and recieved.
Probably not the explaination you wanted but you asked for it! LOL.....

Ahhh... Those are nice! Anything done to the heads?
dohc324ci, it's fun to use ping on a neighboring tech's computer by bombarding it continuously with large packets so they can't surf or download. Like a small denial of service attack. tracert will show you all the hops between your computer and the target. :D You've been geek skooled!

Almost everything...
Ported, combustion chambers cleaned up, oversize valves, oversize hardened seats, hardened guides, ceramic coated chambers/valve heads/exhaust ports, teflon coated valve stems/cam caps/cam saddles, drilled out oil return holes, Cryo treatments, REM micro-polished followers, Comp beehive springs.
Only two things that I didn't do: Jesel followers (way too expensive) and titanium retainers (usually not recommended for street use).
