Will any SCT X3 work???

I have a buddy at work that has a SCT X3 (IIRC) that he bought for a Focus SVT. He has a S/C and is doing a custom tune on it with a Diablo now.

He said that a partial tune was done on the SCT. I am assuming that the device could work on my MM.

If it works, can I have it sent off to get the part tune replaced/taken off? He said there are three slots for tunes.

Could I have it sent out to get the Lidio tune later?

Plan to be stock gears for now and do 3.73's or 4.10's in the next year or so.

I read that it has a economy tune as well, what the heck is that for a engine thats runs on 91oct?

You can use it on the marauder. Your going to have to use SCT pre loaded tune for the marauder. Lidio doesn't do mail order tunes anymore.

I'm not sure what you mean by "mail order" tunes in this thread. I ordered and received an SCT X3 tuner with Marauder preloads from Lidio less than two months ago.

He means Lidio won't email a tune to you. The guy already has the Xcal3. You got both the Xcal and the tune...Your not comparing the same thing.

I bought my first xcal3 from Lidio years ago the best First mod for the Marauder is a tune IMO. You do have options but I suggest you use the search function in the tuning forum. Try loading up SCT tune and see how you like it? Then go from there.

If the tuner is unlocked any SCT dealer can send you a CEF or LL3 file call me if I can help, I will need your serial number

I am buying it from a buddy at work for like $200.

The issue is that I guess a Focus tune was put in one of the files, I am assuming it can be over ridden.

I have the SCT at home now, might play with it later this week and make sure it works. No instructions with it now (suposed to have a CD for it).

I want to have the alt clutch thing activated for WOT (seems neat) and maybe a semi custom set up later with gears. I am torn between 3.73 and 4.10 as do a lot of highway driving and higher speeds.

I guess I will mess with the factory stuff, but it seems better to have a known tuner set up a good tested file/tune vs my dumb ars messing with the shift/fuel/spark.

I liked the Diablo on my Mustang, but the SCT seems more MM friendly/supported...

As Dennis stated, just make sure your XCAL-3 is UNLOCKED.

Otherwise, you'll just be purchasing a code reader and it will cost $150 for SCT (Orlando, FL) to unlock it.

Got some type of ECM fail code 1019, when I turned the key to on. I did it like my Diablo with all power items off (radio, a/c, seatbelt, etc...).

Device showed not married, and 5 unlocks left IIRC.

Only shows a 93 tune, the other (first tune) Stratagy Tune is not 'supported'.

Did I do something wrong?

Colt called me, the tuner had the others car tune in there but it was unlocked, I walked him through downloading the Xcal 3 live update and I sent him a ll3 file, but when he opened live update he could not see the browse button to locate the file, he had the latest version, so I got SCT on the phone we did a three way and they determined he had his display icons to large on his desk top, so we reset those it worked perfect he down loaded the file installed it in the car and is happy and that is all that matters to me.:beer:
