Silver Birch Question

Of the 439 Silver Birch cars with heated Charcoal interiors... how many had factory sunroofs?

Found one in NY right now on ebay but i dont have the time to go look at it before i leave for vacation... i hope i dont kick myself later trying to find one like this...

I would be curious to know as well. There was one for sale when I was looking, but the guy NEVER responded to my emails. It was the only SB that I saw with a Sunroof though.

The SB I bought does not have a sunroof, wish it did though.

Do you have the VIN # to see if it is a stock or add on sunroof / moonroof?

I'm not sure of the exact numbers on the 04 SB's w/heated seats but I know that of the 417 2003 SBs made that 314 of them had heated seats (mine is one of them).

This would leave only 114 2004 SBs that came with heated seats (according to the total number 439 in your original post). IIRC 04 was the only year the moonroof was an actual dealership option so my guess would be less than 100 would have the moonroof and heated seats. I got the 2003 heated seat numbers from the attached 2003 Marauder Matrix I got from djv5150.

Maybe someone who has their Certificate for their 2004 can pipe in as it would contain all of the information for the 2004 MM production numbers as the attached Matrix does for the 2003s.

THe answer is Zero since no Marauders had a sunroof. Some of them got MOONROOFs. ;)

You cannot tell this answer from the 2004 MM Option and trim breakout since Ford Performance Group (FPG) did not capture the data in their breakout. Seems strange that they didn't because MMs with the factory Moonroof all had the 2MHHM beginning VIN. Those without factory Moonroofs start with 2MEHM with an "E" in the 3rd position.

The second H designates "incomplete vehicle" and the moonroof IS a real moonroof. When I open it during the day, no light enters. At night the moonlight pours in!

That matrix is WAY more nicely done than the one Ford sent with my Certivicate of Authenticity. Theirs is actually pretty crappy. I printed it and put it in the frame in place of the old one.

IIRC, there were less than 200 '04s with moonroofs (the number I heard was around 179).

My DTR was equipped with a moonroof, I loved it; great option.

According to discussions here and on the other site, there were about 170 SBs with the light flint interior and heated seats.

All the VINs start with MHHM, which designates an incomplete vehicle. While bringing 2 of these cars into Canda from the USA, we had to jump through lots of hoops and have Ford speak directly to our importation people, since every moonroof car shows up as an "incomplete" vehicle.

Every MM had the moonroof installed offsite by a vendor just down the road from the St Thomas plant, so they had to be listed as incomplete when leaving the factory floor.

Both Dave and I had to show Ford documentation to our Registrar of Imported Vehicles to prove that we didn't have some one-off, factory skunk works car that was supposed to be crushed. Dave actually had to get letters from Ford and have them actually call and speak with our govt folks to suceesfully get them registered here. Mine registration went smoother, but was still a minor hassle.

FPG didn't put the sunroof breakdown totals on our Certificates for one reason: they weren't asked to. The member on MCM forgot to ask them to include it, so they never researched it.

+1 on that, aint nothing a little $$$$ can't change. Everything I buy for now on WILL have a moonroof (unless it's an 03' DBP), only exception

I just purchased a 2004 Silver Birch a couple of months ago with heated seat, factory moon roof and charcoal interior. So I guess it's rare in the marauder world. :)

My 2003 Silver Bich is one of 471 Silver cars. ?????? pls, correct me if I'm wrong. If I remember correctly only 2004 had the "shorten" over head consule to accomodate the 2004 option of a factory Sunroof.

My 2003B has the full over head consule w/ the valet ticket slot. In 2004 they shorten the consule to accomodate the Sun Roof option.

There were 417 SBs in 2003. The consoles were shortened only if you had a sunroof. No sunroof equals full size console.

You could not order a "factory" moonroof in 2003. Was not an option, therefore all 2003 had the longer overhead console.

The moonroof was an option is 2004, therefore all 2004's had the short overhead console.

Sunroof = metal panel

Moonroof = glass panel
