Just woundering if any MM are using a Fidanza, Mcleod, Spec, or other brand flywheel.

I ran one in my Mustang (Fidanza) and it seemed to help up top pulling faster. Off the line it limited wheel spin, which I liked too.

I read a year or so ago about some S/C Panthers that were using them with good results.

I don't think that you can get too fancy with an automatic transmission's flexplate...other than one with an SFI rating for drag racing...:dunno:

Either OEM 6 bolt or a Cobra cranked 8 bolt flexplate.

Joe's right - there is no flywheel on an automatic. Only the steel flexplate.

lightweight flywheel is good for manual - not automatic.

My bad, a light weight flex plate. The Panthers I read about did 5 speed and 6 speed swaps.

I see many light weight flex plates, just not for our set ups or modern Fords. I know some trucks even run them.

Waste of serious money unless you want/need an SFI rated flexplate.
Our flexplates are light to begin with....they look like a pizza pan with a gear ring around the perimeter.
