Did you install the new sender? The sender may be bad.

I don't know about them being THAT bad, but both my gauges don't backlight right now as of a week ago and I'm too lazy to replace the LEDs

Have had my Autometer oil pressure gauge installed for about 7 years now. Had to replace the sender once.
There's no oil in your car!

Didn't you say you could get a new free sending unit anyways??? A week ago. What's the big deal? Jeesh, i'd hate to see your reaction to a bad head rebuild or a tranny for that matter. Call me, oh wait, you allready did that.
This isn't a perfect world, change the part and move on.

Or there is a piece of gunk blocking the orfice, remove the sender and make sure there is no blockage.

If there is blockage, I'd hate to see what the rest on the inside looks like....:eek::eek:

The sender in The Blackbird has been installed for at least 6-7 years and still works perfectly. Put a set in Phoebe when we got her in early '07...no problems there either.
