View Full Version : Need some help or info on my car

So I bought my 2004 MM a few months ago and I feel I am trying to figure out what the previous owner had done to the car tuning wise . I know that the car has kooks headers to kooks high flow cats to x pipe and magnaflow mufflers. Now since driving the car I feel like it drives in a higher gear than it should and is putting too much of a load on it . After some searching I want to say he got the car tuned at Dez racing but im not sure. I have had a superchip ffor the car that i want to try but still not to sure if it will overwrite my previous tune(if the car was tuned) or if it will screw up my computer completely. I think the previous owners name was eric and he was a member to this site. I will attatch a pic of the car when i bought it.

OK when you said its driving in a higher gear then normal. Do you mean your cruising RPM is higher then normal? Say 2800rpm at 65 mph? If thats the case, maybe your convertor isn't locking, you're driving with your O/D off, your speedometer is off due to different rear gears or your rear tires are bigger or smaller then stock or what your tuned for.

No i mean like really low rpm . and I have to hit the gas harder to get a downshift to like wake it up

Sounds like the stock tune.

Yeah I think that was Eric's car, if it is, it WAS tuned at dez racing in seekonk. Does it have a spot on the roof or the trunk (don't remember which one) that looks like there might have been an antenna there at some point?

Sean good to see your back. What happen with your other Marauder ? As for check with DZ Racing they my have record. Also check for gear change in final & tire size. If you have a hand held check shift points at rpm & line pressure. I would also check torque converter for lock / unlock.

Yea it definatley is his all his post match my car perfectly . I have emailed him but no responses yet.
