I'm sure this has been asked before but is it safe to run 75hp nitrous on my stock MM? I'm thinking on the Zex kit.
Thanks.

Kinda hard to use the word "safe" and "nitrous" in the same sentence.
If anything goes wrong while using it.... BANG!

LowbuckMM ran a 100 shot for well over a year on a can tune from SCT and had no issues at all except blowing the walrus nose off the intake once. A beer can later and back down the strip she went....... He now has a good tune for it and is producing MONSTER torque.
I ran a 100 shot ZEX, wet system, for a couple of years with no issues with a basic Marauder tune from Alternative Automotive on a stock motor, 4:10 gears and 3500 stall converter.
My times were in the 13-13.3 on hot days with street tires.
If you can get a dyno tune that would be better. At least to check your fuel pressures since the ZEX is a parallel path for fuel flow.

I ended up running lean with a 100 shot wet and the stock fuel pump. May be ok with the 75. You DO need to have it tuned for it though.

You ended up running lean, thats before you got the tune for the nitrous right? Or even with the nitrous tune you still ran lean b/cus of the stock fuel pump?

I ran a 125 shot for 2 runs at the track and a 150 shot for one run on NX big shot solenoids with no tune, 2 steps colder plugs and 110 octane race gas in a stand alone fuel system (feeds the fuel solenoid only) this past weekend.
I ran lean, but still within safe margins for race gas and only sprayed between 3500 and 5700 rpm on an MSD digital window switch. It can be done at these levels but for how long who knows? Id say 100 shot is super safe for continual use, 125 with a tune if you go through about a bottle a week. 150 is pushing it and really without DRs its not even worth it. I ran a 15.3 stock, 14.2 with the 125, then with a 150 I ran a 14.6 but considerably higher MPH than the 125.

you must get the car tuned - at marauderville 4 i ran a 12.6 with a 100 shot
(zex kit)

+1 on the tune. I run 14.6 with drop in K+N and a tune the rest stock:eek:

Nitrous is like a hot chick with an STD. You know you want it, but must consider the consequenses. Seriously though, you should be fine.

Nope. Had timing pulled for the N2O. Reading others comments though, I have 128k on the car and the FP may not be what she used to be. GT FP going in though. A better fuel pump is a minor investment in a bigger investment.

The thing to remember about nitrous is everyone is quick to say it is dangerous for your motor. This is true with a dry kit, i would not even touch a dry if someone paid me!
Wet, you have a LOT of room for error as long as you run a higher octane gas. 75 is ok without a tune, 100 can be done but you need to pull 2.5 degrees of timing, and then 2 for every 50hp up you go.
