My abs and brake warning lights are on. I heard a humming side coming from my front drivers side tire and had to cut the traction control off with the grey switch located in the engine bay around the power steering system. Its the grey handle that you pull out located at the power steering pump i believe. I have recently replaced all rotors and brake pads on all four tires. I also had the front drivers side abs wire replaced but now no humming sound and no abs or traction control. My brake warning light stays on but my brakes are fine as far as stopping the car. Im wondering what could be the possibilities for the problem. If anyone has any ideas Id love to hear them. Id greatly appreciate and help with this. Thanks

Re-check all your ABS connections--you will need to take off your wheels to do this--with a friends help he found two of mine that were loose and one hanging out ----I had my lights on as well-----brakes worked but in reality had no ABS......best if done on a lift but can be done one wheel at a time----
Better yet--drop by Dennis's shop and have him take a look--he'll find and fix it for sure--

That's not a handle or a switch, you have unplugged the electrical connection to the ABS module. :shake: You should try plugging it back in.

My 2000 f150 did the exact same thing, lights and a constant hum coming from the ABS module, in my case the module went bad. Luckily I found a replacement at the wrekers for dirt cheap. All was good after I replaced it.

I did plug it back in at the switch and nothing changed. No abs or traction control at all so I unplugged it so as to not do any futher damage with the humming sound and all. Also when itsin the next day my battery was dead so thats why i keep it unplugged for now. Ill check the connections first and go from their. I read somewhere there is a pump of some sort that works with the abs that i was worried about burning up.

If it happens to be a ABS module where besides the dealership could I get one? Does anyone know the price range on it too?

Try salvage yards or contact Roy the Dealer on this site.

Most likely the controller module, $600 from Ford, there is a company that will rebuild them for somewhere around $200. Maybe someone can chime in with the name or a link to them.
