Hello,

I am still just digging up info on 4v's and the trilogy kit, and I had at few questions:

1) How much boost can a stock 04 take on the trilogy kit(safely of course)?

2) Would new studs, gaskets and a good valve job(Top end stuff) allow for a reasonable increase in boost? Or is the bottom end then restraint?

3) And the question every 17yr old boy asks when he gets his first car, How much hp/ft lbs. will a stock 04 make at the wheels with a trilogy kit?

I have seen variations in the answers to the questions while I was looking them myself, so I thought I would ask straight up.

Thanks Alot,

Will

The weak link in the stock motor is the bottom end. You need to upgrade to forged components. I believe the block itself can handle just about any boost / HP you can throw at it but it's all in the tune.

I'd contact Jerry at Trilogy International, he'll be able to answer all your questions.

Right out of the box a Trilogy will yield you 375-385 RWHP at 9-10 PSI. I retuned mine with a one size smaller pulley(11 1/2PSI)/lightning MAF/MAFia extender/conical filter and achieved 445 RWHP, with no headers.

There is no "safe" number for RWHP over 420ish at the wheels some say. Some say the tipping point is 450, but others have gone up to the 480-490's RWHP. It has alot to do with how you drive and maintain your ride.

Good luck with your quest for power.

First off....... if you like power and speed, there will never be enough.

9PSI, I'm at 472 RWHP with a twin screw, honestly..... it's not enough, for me.

If powers your thing, if your finances will support it, get a forged lower, then go nuts, just my .02 worth though, your actual mileage may vary.

I am honestly looking to get as much power as I can out of a trilogy on a stock setup on a daily driver without hitting a huge price break. A few 200-300$ parts is one thing but I cant fund to forge an engine especially ontop of the price of the s/c.

I like the setup Justbob has, it seems like a reasonably safe setup without draining the bank for the amount of power it gives. I think I might copy when the time comes :cool4:.

I agree you can never have too much power, you could give john force the space shuttle and he would be bored with it after a week.

Tried and true friend. Stock Trilogy for over two years and the "tune up" 4 months ago. Feels like it should have when new. Pm me if you need details.
