Happened a couple days ago...
The past couple days I have been spending my free time either driving or washing Ms. Jackson. At this particular moment I was driving to go wash her again, because her rear lower bumper had acquired some nasty dust, and thus must clean ASAP. I proceeded down one of the main streets in Springfield, minding my own business when I see this nice looking late model C class Mercedes-Benz coming up behind me...
As the Benz passes I can hear a gurgling coming from the rear, and as I scan up from the rear diffuser I see the markings that only few can enjoy and many envy...AMG. The car had all the proper trim.
6.2 litre V8: Check, Cross drilled larger than life rotors: Check, Front lip with rear defuser:Check, Teenage driver:Check...er...wait?
This kid could not be more than 20, so I am thinking "this could be interesting." As I pull up along side him I give him the eye. You know, the one that says "I am trying to be subtle but please please please play along?" Well after a couple half throttle blips Ms. Jackson convinces him we are not going to give him a ticket and we pull to a light. In front of us are 2 more red lights, but no traffic. I roll down my window:
Me: Man, we can't catch a light can we?
Him: Na, its ridiculous
Me: I like the car, I kinda would like to see what she would do against mine here
Him: Ok, let get past these lights...
I did not expect this. We get past the other 2 lights and get up to about 30mph. I honk 3 times and we take off. Through 1st he hung at my rear quarter, as soon as I hit 2nd he started to overtake me and by the time I was at 70 he had one or two car lengths on me.
I give chase and we both pull into the same car wash. Kid was very polite and a Mercedes-Benz encyclopedia. I showed off Ms. Jackson and he was complimenting me on how much the car surprised him. At first he wondered if he would get a ticket the moment he hit the gas, then wondered why he was not pulling on this crown victoria? I informed him about the marauder and how it was a very special car. We both decided to run through the auto wash and when we were done he lent me a spare microfiber to dry off my car. I invited him to our marauder meet in Springfield so I hope he shows up. Nice guy.
