reading a popular mechanic magazine, i seen an ad for a new generation of spark plugs made by pulstar. they have a capacitor inside that 'pulses' at 2 nanosecond intervals, thus claiming it boost the power of the spark 20,000 times greater than any other spark plug. claims to give you 10-12% more power also.
has anybody used these/ seen these/ or heard anything about these? i personally wouldn't mind trying them if people can vouch for them.--whitey

Snake oil.... I wouldn't put them in any of my cars even if I got the plugs for free.
If they were that good the automobile makers would be installing them in all their vehicles.
Save yourself time & money go with NGK plugs or Autolite plugs.
BTW... I'd never run Champion plugs in a Ford motor. Seen too many problems.

They are a waist of good hard earned money. Autolite is the Mfg. for Motorcraft plugs. Don't try to reinvent the wheel.

but guys, it says it been proven!:bs::rolleyes:
i didn't think they could be any better or else id hear more about them.

The 32v much like most Ford engines do not perform any better with high tech plugs.

Pulstar spark plugs are a worthless gimmick. Here's why:
A spark jumps the gap when the air in the gap is ionized. Once the required ionization potential (voltage) has been reached, the spark occurs. For example, if it takes 10,000 volts to ionize the air, then that's when the spark will happen, even if the coil is capable of generating higher voltage.
Claiming it can generate a spark 20,000 time greater than stock is ludicrous. If it were true, you would need God's Own Coil to fire it... :shake:

....but if the spark is hotter will the combustion process be more complete(thus theoretically creating more power) since the A/F mix only has X time to happen before the exhaust cycle starts?

however, gasoline has a low flashpoint, im not sure what it is, but for for the sake of keeping it simple, a bic lighter will ignite gasoline the same a propane torch will, once the gas is ignited, its a chain reaction between the molecules, i dont think it matters how hot the spark to ignite it actually is. i could be completely wrong, but i think im right.

Although it is possible to have a weak spark that doesn't reliably ignite the mixture, once the spark is "strong enough", having one that is bigger than the minimum necessary is of no value.
You might say it would be like using a jack-hammer to install carpet tacks. (although that would make an awesome YouTube video...)

With thinking like this you should work for Binford :)

I got a free set last week. I had a miss, so I needed to change them anyway. so far they work like spark plugs... if I notice anything I will post. I was amazed that the spark plug bores were so clean and shiny, and I was a little pissed that the ford dealer didnt grease the boots when they changed them last.
