View Full Version : Instrument Cluster Needed

Whats up guys,

Just found out i need a new instrument cluster, my speedo isn't working anymore and the ford mechanic said they dont stock them anymore. I wanted to check here first before looking anywhere else, maybe someone has one for sale. If not, does anyone know where to get one at?

try http://www.car-part.com they turn up there from time to time and relatively cheap.

You don't have to replace the whole thing, just the actual speedo section. The cluster is broken up into three parts.

If you get one I could install and correct the mileage to your old for you.

Earlier this year he had 2 or 3 wrecked Marauders in the salvage yard where he works.

The speedo is on the same circuit as the air ride compressor....check that first.

Then the VSS Sensor.
Highly unlikely the speedo itself is bad.

When you say "the actual speedo section", you mean the whole marauder faceplate and everything or the mechanical workings behind it?

Not doubting your info just want an understanding. I took it to ford and they ran a diagnostics and it came back with the speedo being the problem. Since there isnt a problem with my air ride aka my car doesn't sit low, that wouldnt be the problem correct?

I received a suggestion that since i just put headers and new exhaust on the car, maybe the heat create a short in the wire. BUT then i have to go back to why didnt the diagnostic get an error for that.
