The car is clean. Needs a lower steering column trim piece IIRC but thats it (if not fixed) ..
Damnit... this is tempting... too bad my insurance company wont insure a salv. title vehicle for full coverage.

Ugh.... Awesome price for a blown MM... If I didnt already have 90% of the parts accumilated for the eaton swap.. I would love to take it off your hands.. Unless you want to pull all the eaton parts off and I'll give you $6000.00 for it..lol just kidding.
If you still have it when I get my 97 Cobra sold, I'll defiantly be in touch.

Abdul, you jackass, totally not worth it for a mustang man. Although my brother is definitely interested in your car... The salvage title is kinda sketchy though. We'll think about it.

Talked to my CU today... Is there a difference between a salvage and rebuilt title? They wont do a loan on a salvage. Very interested though. Do you have the pics of the tree damage?
Thanks

I sure do, just give me a day and i will send it to u, i really don't know about loan, and it is a rebuilt title, and passed the all safety inspection so it could be registered any state with no problem, mine just even passed the emission test recently as well

Salvage and rebuilt go hand in hand. When the vehicle gets totaled by the insurance company they issue a "Salvage Rebuildable" title. After the car has been repaired and inspected my the DMV they issue a "Rebuilt" title meaning the car was fixed but it has a prior total loss history.

Absolutley correct, good luck finding a bank that will secure a note a rebuilt title. The repair may be 100% correct, but banks don't want to wind up holding the note on one.
Nice car and nice price, anything but black and I may have considered it.

If you have a 401K, you can take a loan from that. as technically it is your money, you don't even ahve to provide a reason. That's how I bought my MM

And if I'm not mistaken you end up paying yourself interest

Yeah, but be careful how you do this. You DON'T want to take a withdrawal from your 401K, will result in penalties and an immediate tax liability. As for the loan, make sure you understand how the interest works penalty works, % charged, if there will be any other charges, and length of loan.

Yeah +1, definitely be sure it's not a withdrawl, you'get screwed. Interest is usually around 5% and ultimately does get paid back to you. But you lose the interest and gains you would have had if the money stayed in the fund. But definitely make sure it is a loan, and all works out well

man I'd love to pick this car up, but I'd have to sell my own '03 with over 100K miles to do so, then find a way to get it down here to Texas. :(
Good luck with the sale, it seems like a pretty good deal.

Figures. Totalled by the insurance company because it was cheaper than fixing it, and now it's uninsurable because someone repaired it and sold it.
Kind of a shame, but at least the insurance companies (that we're forced to carry) are protected.

What are u guys talking about,,, I have full coverage from ALLSTATE no problem, this car was inspected that is why my insurance gave me full coverage,

Normally a vehicle that has been totaled out then rebuilt can not be fully insured, IE: comp & collision because it was once a total loss. Liabilty should not be any problem though.

To use a 401k other than it's real purpose would not be the smartest move.

Yup, it's not a Christmas club account! :xtree:
The interset rate is lower than any car loan and you pay the money back to yourself. I have done this twice now, with zero penalty to my account. You don't use it like a bank account, but many banks will not give a loan on an uncertified used vehicle older than 5 years. You might be able to get something froma credit union at a larger interest rate. But since you pay the moeny back (and interest) to yourself with an additional pull out of your paycheck, there is no downside. Especially when you consider you what touch the money until you retire, I don't see a negative here, but that's just my opnion. It worked for me, but may not be for everybody.

After 3 months of me telling him to screw the wiper cowl down to stop the engine fumes from entering through the fresh air duct:rolleyes: He finally found all the screws and clips and fastened it down the way it was supposed to be instead of just resting on the lower piece. He did this a few weeks ago from what I understand and hasn't complained once since.
