my windows will literally take upwards of 10 seconds to go all the way up. if i try to put both sides up at the same time they go even slower. its really annoying specially since the broncos windows go up or down in about 2 seconds. any ideas?

Roll them all the way down and lubricate the run channel and roll them up and down to distribute it.

Just like bad merc said, and use silicone spray. It worked for me, this years heat really kicked my Windows butt.

recommended lube?

Can't remember the name, but the woman on television gave it a 10. Or any silicone spray that has the small tube attached to control the spray.

Yes, use silicone lube. WD40 and petroleum-based lubes will cause your tint to peel.

If the lube doesn't work your tracks may need alignment. There are a few threads on this.

Use silicone on the felt guides and a good white grease on the anything that slides inside the door.

Let me know where you get it and what it is called. lol
All my windows are about a second or so trailing the speed of the front drivers window.

Same here.... My passenger is the worst and the driver's is a close second. The rears seem to be decent, but I am sure they could ALL use this treatment!

I had the same problem Dave. Ford makes a special grease for the tracks and the felt. It dries to a clear powder. Ask the parts counter for the track lube they use and be done with it.

Do you have to take the door panel off? How do you get to the channel?

I went by my local Ford place and asked for the lube and picked up the
following:

Parts guy (who I am always asking to get obscure parts for me such as this stuff, the screws for the
radiator cover panel, hood bumpers LOL) didn't recognize the track lube that sprays then dries to a powder
but said the techs just use this stuff sparingly and a bottle will last you forever....

P/N on the reciept was XL-10 LUBRICA 093077 but that doesn't seem good enough so right off
the bottle I got XL3Z-19G208-AA or "FIR No." 153958

Time to see if this speeds up my creepy passenger and rear windows!

Best,
Jonathan

Mine did the same thing when I 1st got it and it's a fairly common problem we see with these cars. Loosen the regulator mounting bolts and the two glass bolts(on the glass bolts loosen just enough that when the window goes up it will center it's self and keep that adjustment) run the window down then all the way up. While in the up position tighten down the regulator bolts then move the widow down so you can see the glass bolts and tighten them(don't over tighten or you'll be buying new glass). Some times the regulator will shift causing the window to bind in the window run. I use Tri-flow a Teflon based lubricant to periodically lube my window runs works great. If this fails to help it may be the regular itself is binding internally.

Thats the stuff... I never said it was a spray, I said it dries to a clear powder. Kudos to you parts guy.

The windows nearly ground to a halt on my 01

The drivers one would not go back up in the winter. Replacing the regulator fixed the problem. The cables wear into the jacket and bind and fray inside the spool driven by the motor.

The regulator is riveted in place and may still bind due to poor initial setup. I got a big lesson on the rears of my 94. Replace the 1/4" aluminum rivets with bolts on the bottom, then the other points all have 11mm bolts. The factory service Cd has the adjusting procedure, the design is the same back to 92 for the Crown Vic/ Grand Marquis Town cars use a unique part and changed a few times

Using some bike grease on the cables and slider does improve a old regulator.

DO NOT get a aftermarket regulator. FORD sells updated ones for a reasonable price via the online dealers.
