Thanks to "tjl006" I just shipped out a set of front control arms to my manufacturer. I'm eager to see what he comes up with and stressed the facts that you guys are looking for pieces that can have bushings and ball joints replaced without having to purchase new units. He's currently working on a couple of projects so give him some time and I'll keep you guys posted.

Like Dave said, the only true benefit would be total adjustability for our issues with negative camber.

Would these also work on crown vics??? :D

If these are a go, you'll have them before Halloween. Sparta don't waste anytime going from idea to prototype to production. I guess Ill be sporting a new set of front control arms so we can come up with a instruction manual for the product. ;)

I'd be down for a set if they correct the camber and everything.

Just don't give your self an Angina attack if you misplace your camera again. :P

Camber would be corrected just as stock by rotating the eccentric.

Camber would be corrected just as stock by rotating the eccentric.

It would have to go beyond that adjustment for many of the lowered cars. there should be a threaded rod and backing nut integrated into the arms just like autocross instead of relying on an eccentric nut. If these are tubular steel, it would be nothing at all to achieve. Mine as well as many others are at max adjustment and still far away from spec.

They did an autocross 67 "new" Mustang on horsepower (or one of them Saturday shows) that sported something of this design. AWESOME set up.

Ditto on fully adjustable for lowered cars.

I just got off the phone with my manufacturer and what I need to know is how much adjustability in camber/caster is required for lowered cars? Can anybody tell me who's had an alignment done how far out of spec the camber/caster still is?

With 1 coil removed from the front springs and the flags removed, the car can be aligned within spec with room to spare.

Tommy,
I'm just out of spec on the negative camber w/the adjustment maxed out. My quess is about 2 degrees - 3 at the most. That would be making the upper arm adjustable from stock to longer dimension.

How dropped is your car? It looks like 3.....feet. :P LOL!

I just changed the front + rear shocks. Took out the QA-1's and put in KYB's. The front is dropped 2+" plus the drop from running the 27" dia. tires. I can't fit the low profile floor jack under the front bumper/front crossmember anymore!
If there is time for an alignment on Saturday I can see where the #'s are.

I'm hoping I can get it on my alignment lift!!! I have a few tricks. ;)

Just wondering if there was any update in the development of these?

Its funny we were just talking about this yesterday. Its not looking cost effective when all is said and done. Tommy will update with more detailed info. I believe bushings and another front end item are in the works.

Definitely keep us posted. Getting ready to do a major suspension overhaul and may be interested any new goodies that they may have.

Unfortunately the arms themselves aren't going to happen. To make a tubular lower will cost about $500.00 each so that's out the window and unfortunately with places online whoring out Chinese made uppers online that's not cost effective either. Chuck hasn't given up hope though, that's why he's THE MAN! He's working on a bushing for the rear part of the arm that will allow for greater caster/camber adjustment and ofcourse it will feature his custom application made bushings and most likely the Delrin sleeve. I'll keep you guys posted.

See if Chuck can made these bushings for the upper control arms because they are the ones that use the adjustments.

BTW, I have a pair of stamped steel lower control arms from a CVPI that came in for ball joint issues.

Can't wait! I can envision the off/on ramps getting a work out around here! Just need to have a handful of business cards from Defyant laying around in the car when The Man pulls me over! Not that I break any driving laws...or anything like that.:burnout:
