Hey guys, I got those Nitto 420S's installed today on the rear...255/55/18.
They ride beautiful...best tires I've used so far on the marauder.
My question is, for optimal treadlife under normal driving conditions in sunny south florida (average of 95-100 degree weather constantly) and about 50% highway driving and 50% city driving....what should be my ideal tire pressure for these tires?
Some people said 35 PSI...others said 40 PSI...one person said 30 PSI...
Also, what should the front BFG Gforce KDWS be filled to? 35 psi?
any assistance on this issue would be appreciated! Thanks!

I've always used 38 up front ...To compensate for the weight...
And 36 in the back ...It's lighter back there...
My Nitto (555's) are wearing very well...
30 is much too low...

I use the specs in the door jamb.
I like the 555s, I am running them on all 4 corners, they grip well but at 1000 miles I think they are damn noisy. Inside the cabin it sounds like I am running mud tires.
Good thing I just ordered an amp from Pops!

hmm...well thank you both for the reply...
I've never inflated the front tires past 35 PSI and I seem to get getting extremely good wear with them (I've got 25,000 miles on the fronts and still lots of health tread life).
The rears ive had in the past all seem to wear in the middle a lot more than they should for someone like me with good driving habits.
I have tried 33/35/40 PSI adjustments in the rear with 35 up front and all yielded premature wear of the middle tread.
anyone have any other suggestions?

I have the 420's on the rear since April. Been running them at 40 psi. feel kind of squishy at anything less. Average about 44 psi total in this STL heat. One trip to KY and one trip to MS handle the road real well.

I run 35 PSI all around. The KDWS rears tend to wear out in the middle so overinflating them can't help this any. Remember, 44 PSI is the MAXIMUM, that means if you are hauling 4 passengers and a trunk full of bodies, er, heavy groceries. $40+ PSI+sport suspension+4000 pound car=very bumpy ride, especially if your roads are as rutted and pothole filled as the ones I drive. How hard is it not to make a damn manhole cover an inch higher than the rest of the road surface anyway?

Don't use the door tags for reference unless you're filling up a stock BFG tire.
The middle of my 420's wore quick, as does any tire I've put on the rear of an MM. I too have tried different pressures with no luck.
This next set of 420's I'm going to run will have 35psi in them.

18 psi...... At the track.. lol.. they actually hook really well on 18psi. I'm running 35 psi on the road I love the nitto 420s!!! great tread wear on my car.

I have 420's on the front and rear and I run 35psi all around. 40 felt a little too bouncy and 30psi affected the ride. 35psi seems perfect for those tires.
I run about 25psi on the track and never had a traction problem.

Okay. I've put many messages up during the time I've been a member but most of them are about the tires. I've said countless times BF Goodrich were the absolute worst. I see many club members are using Nitto 420s. I'll keep that in mind for next time. I have 140K on my MM and went through two sets of BF Goodrich by 81K. I got Goodyear Eagle F1s at 81K and got 50 K out of the rear. Like the BF Goodrich the center tread wore quicker than the rest of the tire. My mechanic advised my tires even at 35 psi were inflated too hard. I recall another member saying way back it was the rims. The tires were too big for them. Maybe so. I noticed whenever I rode over dirt and then looked at the tires the dirt would go side to side on the fronts but never the rears. They would stop about an inch short of the tire edges on the rear which suggested inflation was too high. I am now running 32 psi in the rear and I notcie from dirt patters more tread is on the road. I use 34 on the front. Like others I've run the rears at 36, 38 or so and still got the premature tire wear on the rears so I'm seeing how 32 will work. Since I have only a few thousand on them its too early to tell. And oh yes on the fronts I have 60K and still have some tread left on them. My guess is I'll probably get 65K to 70K out of the fronts. I really like the Goodyear Eagle F1s. Th traction is fabulous but be warned these are ultra high performance tires and not all seasonal so if you live in the frozen north they may not work for you.

I run Nitto 555's all around . 255's on front with 34 psi and 295 on the rear with 35 psi. The tires are wearing evenly on my marauder with 7500 miles on them.
