500 miles since TCE brake lines, NAPA slotted rotors and NAPA SD pads I notice this morning a non-contact mark on my LF rotor, about 1/2" on outside of rotor was lightly rusty pulled them apart and found the outer pad leading edge flaked away and the slot cut in the pads chipped, inside pad was wearing evenly but slot chipping away as well. Both had almost 50% loss of pad material.
Called NAPA, no problem, warranted me another set, go home, put the drivers side back together and pulled passenger side which I thought was OK. outside pad looked perfect, inside almost to the metal!
Both calipers appear to move freely, when I pulled them off I just opened the bleeder, and pushed the caliper pistons with a big screwdriver to get them off, no problem, the sliders move easily.
I pulled the banjo bolt on the drivers side to make sure I hadn't damaged it while tightening, looks OK.
WTF?!?

Sounds like defective pads. If the pistons & calipers move OK then It's got to be the pads. I'd put a few k miles on them and check.

Defective lines preventing the calipers from unclamping?

So NAPA reps say maybe defective pads?
I'm apprehensive, I'm driving to Atlanta in a couple of weeks...
I guess I am going to feed it front calipers just because.
I am halfway to Wilwoods :mad2:

Have you tried compressing the front pistons with the bleeder closed? If you can compress the piston with the bleeder open and can't when it's closed it's the lines. New lines or not I'd try it just to eliminate one more possibility.

I tried it on the passenger side, it was fine, I already had the drivers side back together.
I'll check them this weekend when I put the new although probably not needed calipers on.
I kinda got a hint from NAPA that there may have been an issue with the cure times on the pad pucks :shake:
I ordered the Hawks originally but they were on backorder.....
