I blew the trans in my DD 95 Grand Marquis. Are they the same in a 2003? What years are the same, or what is the differance? I don't want to spend much on this to fix. It is long in the tooth.

You will need a 2004 and newer transmission because of changes in the electronics and the VSS output in the tailshaft.

Uh... What did I miss. Did the OP mistakenly call the DD a 95 instead of an 05? If it's an 05 then you are correct, but if it's truly a 95 then that is WAY wrong. LOL

On a 95 you will need to get a transmission from a 95-97 only for a direct swap. Even then you will need to make sure that the tailshaft housing is the same length as there were 2 versions for these cars in each year.

thank-you Guys. Just got back from holidays. Yes my DD is a 95. This is the info I need.
I suspect there is no benifit to going with a newer style trans. It is just stock type power.
