I was wondering if the red interior lights on the front driver and passgenger doors should come on with the rest of the interior lights when you open the doors? Mine doesnt. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance

They're just reflectors.

They're just reflectors.

Well that explains a lot. Dont think I've ever owned a car with just reflectors in the doors like this.

I was reading in the owners manual about turning the switch on and opening the door and using some override button for something, but wasnt sure what it was talking about. Thought maybe that was it, but obviously its not.

Thanks!

Reflectors in the doors is also a DOT required item. A friend of mine was imported a skyline that was one of the few things he has to change/fix on the car to get it to pass all the DOT stuff now.

That's a very good trick to get it US legal from what I've heard. Aside from actually having the vehicle meet all safety requirements, where do you even go to get it checked and made to be a US registered vehicle?

My friend had the car sent to a place in CA since it came in via Long Beach, CA. The Importer he dealt with set everything up and then it will be put on a train bound for VA.

What year? I think the fourth-gen ('95-'98) GT-R was one of the best-looking cars ever...and the only Japanese car I would be proud to own. It even has correct-wheel drive!

.

I know of a few members ( MercuryMarauder.net and at CrownVic.net ) that have made the reflectors functionally operational lights.
