I have always been amazed at the fact no American manufacturers ever considers a particular color for a specialty car. It's one of the prettiest colors around, and yet Chevrolet never considered it for the Impala SS in 1994, 1995 and 1996? Mercury obviously didn't put much consideration into it either for the 2003 or 2004 Marauder? I will never forget back when I was a teenager and my uncle pulled up in a brand new 1969 Corvette in this particular color.

I think most people will agree it looks much better than black. A vast majority might agree it looks better than silver. It's hard to tell how many people might like it better than the red or blue currently used on Marauders.

What color am I speaking of?

Stupid me. I was wondering why I was up at 3:16 a.m. in the morning posting here. Had to go in and change my time stamp preference! :)

OK, 10 views and no guesses yet.

Dark Metallic Green, a/k/a British Racing Green.

Sure would be pretty on a new Marauder with the dark charcoal interior! Aye?

That color was all the rage about ten yrs ago. It was around for a good five years and ran it course. It was over done and put on cars that it really didn't belong on. I had a 94 Taurus with it. Not exactly a car for British "Racing" green. If anything I would like to see it in Dark Charcoal Grey or White.

If the dealership does not get off its a$$ and get a zone rep to look at my paint I will have Dark British Racing Green Marauder by spring!

OK, someone who is computer literate do a photochop or something to show the rest of us what this would look like.

My dealer just painted my hood, my top, buffed the trunk and replaced the rear bumper with a new one all because of paint problems and all under warranty, FYI.

You sir are lucky:) My car was repainted hood, top, truck. Looks like it was done with roller:mad:
Shop that did it has a top notch rep! Do know what went wrong:mad:
When you send it to the dealership you really have no control on where it goes. (if they don't have their shop)

Thanks for the good thought:):):)

The Impala had a pretty dark green metallic in model year 2002. I don't know if they carried it over to 2003 and 2004 or not.

I bought a SCJ Torino that was Ivy Green, hated it after about a week, stripped it and painted it Red.

The dealer owns the shop. I was so pleased with their work that I am having them repaint the front bumper cover at my expense.

I was there yesterday, Bob. Saw them buffing your car...it was looking good. I stopped by to have a new tail lamp replaced and I'd just got done with Scott and Jeff over at service getting the dynamic balance on my front wheels straightened out (for those of you looking at the Baer or any other large front rotors...balancing can be a challenge 'cause there is only 1/16" clearance from those big calipers). We fixed the balance by putting weights on the inside of the spokes. And she's tight as a drum. We also realigned the car. While Scott and I were on the test-drive...out of nowhere, we hear a loud noise...no debris in the road...nothing. When I got out...there were 2 large and deep scratches in the driver's side rear door. I went by the Body Shop...and in 10 minutes they were gone (wet-sand/polish etc.) I pulled him off your car for the 10 minutes, Bob...sorry.

We are TRUELY fortunate to have Team Ford here in the A-T-L.

Yes, Todd. We most certainly are! While in general I agree with Logan that paint is difficult at best to match, the guys at Team seem to have the knack.

Well if I ever get the paint mess resolved with the dealership I think I'll head down to see you boys for some good paint work:):):)

I sure as hell won't find it where I am now:mad2: :mad2:

Big Dog,

You'll probably pass through the Carolinas. Stop and say boo to the Carolina Marauders! Next meet is December 13th at noon. See THIS (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6208) thread.

Shameless plug for our local meet? Yes, but still a honest invite nonetheless!
