Well I recently purchased some used rear OEM tires from Marauderman (Tom) and had them mounted on my car. I put the ones he gave me on the rear and moved my existing rears to the front so now I have 245/55 all around. I was just wondering if anyone else was running this set up and how you guys like it that do? I actually really like the ride with the same size rears all around. A little bit smoother of a ride and still have some good handling. Marauderman (Tom) hooked me up with a great deal and I appreciate it in this tough time where money is tight and my old tires got trashed quickly due to a poor alignment. Alignment should be good now (within carfixer's newest spec) and the tires have good rubber on them. We shall see what happens! I actually like the look too! Fills out the front fender a little more than the OEM fronts!

It's been done - if you don't have traction control there will be no problems.
It looks good to me but the only really important thing is if YOU like it!
I run 255/45-18 all around and when the tune is corrected for the smaller diameter tires the speedo/shift points are perfect and it's like installing gears in the rear.

okay I will post a reply....I did the same thing two weeks ago because of the tire size info posted on this site being the rear size on all four corners will not affect the TC! Guess what....I now have a little post it note on the steering wheel to remind me...."Hit the button"....I'm getting a X-cal3 from Dennis....hope that cures it? the ride is nice too.

I do like them and it is a 300A so I am good. When I bought the car 3 years ago, it had OEM fronts all around and it looked ridiculous with the tiny tires! I like a nicely filled wheel well myself.

+1 on the small tires/wheel wells - I "had" to lower the car over two inches all the way around!

I was all set and ready to lower mine and then read all the negatives about Eibachs and came to my senses having a lowered car in New England during the winter, so I kept her stock height and I have the rear end raised to its highest setting. I like the raked look.

Tom Doan has the same setup, makes the car look beefy.

28" tall tires all around makes the car look pretty silly. That's me though

Where did you find that info? If you have TC the rears MUST larger than the fronts by a minimum of 3% for the TC to work. You CAN NOT tune out this function, period, its been tried by the experts. You will need to go with larger rears. IMHO just get the 235/50/18 for the fronts. They are reasonably priced and readily available.

Looks okay I guess, should ride a little softer. Shine them suckers up and take a pic.

Not just you....it looks retarded to most of us.:P
But then again...the difference is all about the type of car.
You won't see a high end Italian car owner go with same size tires for convienence when the car was engineered for what it came with.

You asked, if money dictates do what you got to do. If you have a choice the car is better all around with the larger rear tires.
I went with one size up in the rear due to availability and like it better. Some have gone with lower profile all around and like the "clown car" look.
At the end of the day all that matters is what you like. Just make sure you meet the load and speed rating.

May be....but I have the rack effect that it came with with this set with different widths--255/vs 295-- but in his car it will look somewhat the same--your right--but like sailsman says below....

you see....it is what it is..safe and ok at the moment-just what the owner wants---not what your thinking------that doesn't play a role in this case----------its a new twist for him that is perfectly ok------he was just asking if other have the same set up--correct?
It is a 300A--which of course give you more latitude.....cough!...cough...

If you own an early 2003 (300A) without traction control there's no issue running all four tires the same size.
If you own a later 2003 (300B) or a 2004 with traction control, you'll need to run tire combination with a 3% - 5% stagger to continue using the T/C, if you run all four the same size, T/C needs to be turned off whenever you drive the car.
You can't tune out the stagger, so the X-Cal won't fix this.

I like everything about the new tires. I like the feel (I do a lot of highway). I like the way the well looks more full. And I liked the price for sure! I was going to buy the OEM fronts, but saw that Tom (Marauderman) had a couple sets of rears available and I figured I would try them out. I like them a lot better that OEM fronts.

LOL I was sure that the dealer put larger rear tires on the car by mistake!!
When I checked out the car I noticed the 235/50/18 in front and 245/55/18 in back. Does look mean, good thing to know it's stock.
I found out the hard way about the trac control with my 01. With the 17" tires on the front and the 16" snows in back the overall diameter diff is too much, so the trac would kick on at high speed turns like off ramps etc.
I run 255/45-18 all around and when the tune is corrected for the smaller diameter tires the speedo/shift points are perfect and it's like installing gears in the rear.
Got any pics? The reason I ask is that I just bought my MM and it needs rear tires soon. I've got 255/45-18s all around on my CV that are at 70% tread. Since I just dropped the cash on the car, it needs it's 100K service and new rotors, I'd like to put off buying tires for awhile. Mine is a 300a so no TC to worry about.
The bonus is that as you stated the net change to the final drive is like changing gears. In fact it is very close to stock height tires and 3.73. I am considering as a compromise since I plan on taking it on road trips, possibly long ones. What can I say I feel Panthers love to stretch their legs and I firmly believe the MM shouldn't be abused by denying it the pleasure out on the road and run and run and run. I sure miss the R&P speed limit in Montana, made it worth the trips to ND to visit the wife's family. Nothing shortened up MT like being able to roll with the state patrol with the cruise set at 95.
Plus once I get new tires I can put these back on the CV's wheels or a spare set of MM wheels and get a effective ratio of 3.95 should I want to take it to the drag strip.

Going out on a limb here, but my guess is if you'd look at your CV with 255-45-18's all the way around that you'd get a pretty good idea of what a Marauder with 255-45-18's all the way around would look like....

looks so much better with the 26" all around rather than 28" all around
Thanks for the pics but I was actually hoping for pics on a un-lowered car. As my CV is lowered over 2", and while I do plan on lowering the MM eventually, that like tires that are actually new, are gong to have to wait for awhile.

Nitto - no longer available!
I just replaced them last month with Cooper - see sig.
The Redlines were made for Discount Tire by Nitto right after the '05 Mustang was released and they were indended for the Mustang as well as the Chrysler 300 platform. They were not well received and were soon heavily discounted to clear out inventory never to be made again.
