I found this on the Ford Employee site. It was at SEMA. It is supercharged with 300hp and has Nitrous. They say it is capable of 6 second 0 to 60 runs. NICE A$$ CAR!!!

Now that's the car the livery drivers in NYC need to be using!

Nice! Marauder's big brother. 300 HP sounds a little low, though...

Yeah, 300 HP *including* SC seems low. It's just a "bit-o-boost" to be sure.
I was kinda wondering why the MM was not put in the Lincoln body - seems "sleeker" to me. But hey, I'm not complaining!

That's sweet but it would have to lose the column shift.

300 hp on the SOHC is still an increase of about 60 hp or more, don't forget.
I used to be into the 2003+ Town Car look. But now I can't get over how much more I prefer the MM over the Town Car. I think it's the sculpted door lines and fenders.
They say the sign of true automotive love is how long or how many times you look back at a car as you walk away after parking it. This morning I literally turned my head back 5 times as I walked to the elevator in the parking garage at work... didn't even notice my wife had already gone up to her office.

Dont get me wrong, I love my MM.
Horse Power or not, my stock 98 Towncar I traded in for my MM, with traction control off would smoke, not just squeal, but smoke the tires off the line every time. My dad has a 2002 Towncar and on serveral occasions off the line 0 - 45 he can get my MM. Of course the MM get all the looks!

I notice the DOHC motors gets its power later on than the SOHC if I remember correctly. My CV develops more power sooner but the MM tops out with more power at a later RPM. So I win off the line to like 45 mph but the MM will smoke me on the top end.

I agree 0 - 45 is where it realy counts, that is why I am saving my money to have DR install a SC, with all of the trans mods and tuning to make it reliable. I almost bought a CV Sport but could not give up the controls in the steering wheel that I was so used to in my TC Signature Series. Sounds funny but that was my deciding factor.
It is kind of fun to see the look on the ricers face when at 50mph you start to blow by them when they think they have you beat!
One more commision check after the Holidays and I will be making that phone call to DR and set up the appointment.

You mean 'TIRE' not 'TIRES', right? Or does the TownCar offer a limited slip diff as an option?
I, too, had no trouble smoking that one rear tire in San Diego this past January. But that was it...

That was your deciding factor? Then you looked at a 2001 CV Sport and not the 2002 CV Sport or newer. My 2002 has the same controls as the MM and the TC. 2001 only has cruise on the steering wheels. I have cruise control, climate control, and radio controls on my steering wheel.
Hmmm....look at the extreme left where the steering wheel is on my car. You can see the "FAN" controls on my wheel.

Many CV Sports? There are less CV Sports on the road than MM's....seriously. :) Have you specifically eaten CV Sports or a CVs with HPP for breakfast? Or was it Frosted Flakes? Hahahaha...just kidding. Base CVs, yes, easy to smoke. I know I can smoke base CVs and PIs...it may be the intake and chip helping. :D

CrownVic...What's that you have installed between the dash and center console, where we have the two gauge panel. What is that?

To answer the question why the DOHC engine from the MM is not put into the Lincoln is because it won't fit. The firewall is pushed forward on the Lincoln to give the windshield more rake. I had asked Steve Babcock why we don't have a Lincoln to compete with the Northstar powered Cadillacs and this was the explaination given.

that's right steve. Only the Marauder has limited slip standard, it's optional on the CVPI, but unavailable on TCs. GMs, and other CVs

I would've bet my wife's life that my 2001 Signature Touring edition had limited slip differential, as well as lower geared rear end and a bigger torque converter than the base Town Car... did that go away for the 2003 models?
I'm sure there were two sets of rubber patches, not one.

No reason why you can't occasionally get 2 stripes of scratch from an open rear end, but it's usually the exception, not the norm... unless you've got really horrible tires to begin with.

The Town Car" body looks like an old man with a hunchback, the old body was nicer. JMO

You're probably right.
I'm "GUESSING" my car with my mods and lighter weight (~200lbs), I'd be neck and neck with a totally bone stock MM to a certain point. :D

I ran head to head with a Crown Vic on my 14.56 run. Check out the time slip and you'll see that it takes tuning, head porting, and some other hot rodding to get the two equal. I don't recall the details but it was a sweet ride. Sounded killer, too.

Hmmm! I look back at my mine ~2 times when parking at work and around town!
I put almost 300,000 miles on a 1986 Signature Towncar with the 302"V8, Champagne color, fully loaded. Loved it!

So I'm not the only weirdo doing this. :D Do any of you find yourself looking at the car's reflection as you drive past a glass storefront of a big rig with a huge shiny chrome gas tank? :D

Hey CV, I like the Steering wheel controls, I dont remember seeing that when I looked at the CV! I may have saved a few bucks. Anyhow I do love my MM. But yours has a great touch with the MM pipes in the rear!
Count me in as weirdo too, I look all the time. I especialy like to look at my wheels reflection in the car next to me going down the road!

I'm sure there were two sets of rubber patches, not one.
All HPP-equipped CV/GMs, Touring/Cartier Town Cars, and Police Interceptors built from '00 through '01.5 came with 3.55 gears.
PIs got the 11.25" -BARM torque converter in '99, and it was added to the above list in '00.
No recent-vintage Town Cars have had LSDs in them.
