I finally got the paint job on my Marauder complete, I wanted to keep it looking stock for the most part when viewing from a distance. When it is in the sun and you are close to it you can see that the paint isnt stock. The rear emblem was shaved, Zack's badgeless grill and a cowl hood.
The base coat is a black with very minimal blue flake. Unless the car is in the sunlight it cannot be seen at all. Two coats of blue pearl were layed down from the base of the cowl over the roof and finishes on the trunk lid. I still need to do some more cleaning of the paint and fix a few spots but I like the way it turned out.
Here is the base coat, it is hard to see the flake with a camera but its the best I could do.

It looks black from a distance, but not up close with light

The tail lights and reverse lights have thinned out base coat applied on them so they have the blue flake as well.

Not a huge fan of the wheels, although they do look nice. I'm really loving the color and the rest of the car in general. Looks like a quality job. Well done and she's lookin mean!

It is a very long story about how it all came about but in short, a different shop was originally supposed to paint it. I lost a lot of time and money from that.
A different shop who go screwed over by the same guy ended up finishing it up for me and let me do 90% of the body work and prep so I got a good break.
We figured without those factors it would have been around $4,500 or so.

Hmm, that's a bit pricey, but you also did a fair bit more than what I'm looking for myself.
I'm aiming to repaint the car factory black, except, you know, done right. I'm lucky enough to own a 300A, with that oh-so-crappy paint. :) There are seriously large patches on the roof that are clear-coated grey spots.

I had the same issue with mine on the clear coat, it really sucks! The guys when did mine dont normally do full paint jobs so Im sure I could have found someone else to paint it for around $2500-3000. It all depends on your area tho, this place is SO expensive for any kind of car items.

Looks fantastic! I also think that green flakes done the same way would be awesome.
Now, go scare some Mormons with that thing!

I like it. My Titan is painted Galaxy Black and like you say from far away it's black but on a sunny day(when it's clean) it has blues, reds, purples, golds etc. Someday we'll redo the MM in the factory Silver Birch.

First, very nice looking paint and hood. I am Envious!
Second, I have been kind of angry at myself and my taste as I have not seen one set of wheels that look good on the marauder except the factory wheels...until your car. Those wheels with your stance just scream sport sedan. I love how they are not over the top, yet set the vehicle off just right. If only I had money to buy 20 inch drag radials over...and over...and over...
Nice car man, on the top of my list of favorite Marauders.

Very nicely done. As far as wheels, the factory wheels are what make a Marauder a Marauder and set it apart from a souped up Vic, IMHO. Those do look good though.
Tastefully done, looks great.

The hood is from www.classglassperformance.com (http://www.classglassperformance.com)
There are several other members who also have this hood.

The rims are TSW Nogaro wrapped in Nitto 555's and the specs are in my signature for the dimensions. I appreciate the love:beer:

What was your total cost w/ shipping?
I've wanted one of these for some time now, but figured the shipping would easily double the price of the hood.

^^^^^^
I believe the total with shipping was around $650 or so. It was sent straight to the paint shop so it will be a little more if you plan on shipping it to a residential address.

Looks NICE! When I got my estimates, they ranged from $8-$12 GRAND. There is no such thing as a cheap quality paint job in these parts. Car looks sick man.

I think it would be ALOT more...anyway, thanks for giving me that idea, it might make it more practical...I'll keep that in mind.

Very, very nice. I absolutely love the blue flake. :bows:
I want to do the same with the SB when I get mine repainted to set it apart a little. It will look like a normal SB except when the sun hits it just right.
